EL Chapter 14 + One year anniversary · 1:50am Feb 8th, 2016
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the huge wait for chapter 14. I had a lot of horrible stuff to deal with in a very short span of time, and since it's still going on, I'm finding it very hard to find time to write. As such, I'm reluctantly jumping back to monthly schedules, since the alternative would be a six month hiatus and no one wants that.
Also, Enchanted Library is one year old this month!
Isn't that terrifying?
I think it's terrifying that I've been at this for a yeAR AND THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY RARILIGHT KISSES YET WHAT THE FU-- I mean, what? Who said that?
So! Here we are, almost year after chapter 1 was posted, 130,000+ words in, and I'm still amazed I got past chapter 3. It's a bit startling to think that, exactly a year ago, I was still in College, with no idea of what to do with my life, and with a looming fanfiction, and now here I am, with a full-time job, a college degree, and lots and lots of horsewords — and a severe lack of horsekisses.
Very soon, romance tag, very soon…
January was actually the first month since I started that missed an update. Without going into much detail, these past two months have been very rough on me emotionally and in other ways, plus I have a crazy amount of workload, so most of this chapter was written by like... writing for ten minutes every day... Terrible, I know... Regardless, it was a nice break from EL, and I've managed to come back stronger.
One thing I'm still eternally grateful about is the amount of support I've gotten, especially from all the incredible people on my patreon. I can say for sure that my past-self would have never seen this coming, and as such, I wanted to use all your help to make the fic even better and add the chapter artworks. It's actually something I've always wanted to do, even before I started EL, and it was honestly a sort of dream come true to be able to do this thanks to you guys, as well as my amazing partner-in-raritwi-crime, ArcticWaters.
As for the story, I'm really excited for what's coming up in the next few arcs. There's still a few more Ponyville chapters coming up, followed by some Adventure Arcs I've been looking forwards to for a very long time. We're also gonna have the long-awaited (by me, at least) proper introduction of the last, but certainly not least, member of the Mane6.
Also next chapter is basically a love letter to every Raritwi fan reading this so be excited for that.

I wish I'd been reading from day 1, in retrospect, but I'm so very glad I picked it up when I did. :) Your writing is wonderful, polished and every time I see a chapter update I get all giddy and want to drop everything to read it. ^^

Well, given you're working on an AU where Rarity and Twilight aren't conveniently already good friends at the start, I think the slow burn works, though I wouldn't say no to more progress on that front.
