Tip o' Whenever I Feel Like It (Living) · 10:51pm Aug 27th, 2012
It was a beautiful morning in the Yosemite mountains. My friends and I made preperations to hike Mt. Conness, and went underway. When we reached the top, we found an old ammo case decorated with stickers. In it was notebooks filled with notes from people who reached the top of the 13,000 foot peek. Out of all what was said, there was one line that stuck with me. "Tired of seeing people dying, so I decided to start living."
I say this because one of the best sources for writing material comes from "living". When you challage yourself to be smart, athletic, and socal, you gain experiances that can be used in writing. To be a truly great writer, you must learn how our world works, you must undergo conflicts, and you must know how the lives of other people play.
Being smart is not limited toward good grades. It can mean you're book saavy, street smart, or just plan lucky.
Being athletic does not mean you have to be the MVP. What it does mean is that when you apply yourself to a sport, you learn how compitition feels like and its results.
Being social definitly does not mean spending hours on facebook or the like. It means you're not afraid to go up to a random person waiting in line and say, "Hi, I'm so and so." (Be careful when doing this. Remember, there are crazy people out there.)
The big thing to learn here is that if you want your writing to connect with many people, you have to get a taste of their lives. If you do so, you will be one step closer to amituer.
Always Sincerely,
