With mostly radio silence with vague/broken promises, a lot of you are probably wondering what's going on with the last chapter.
To be honest, it's my own enthusiasm. I stopped watching ponies early into season four. I don't know if it was me or the show that changed, but it just wasn't the same for me. I still enjoy the fan works, but lately I've not seen any new fics in the genre of 2nd POV romance to really re-ignite my spark. (Aside from those human/EQG ones, but I prefer having a 'You' pony.)
With my losing interest in the show, it made me fearful if my other story ideas would conflict with episodes I hadn't seen. Then I wondered if I may be better using those scenarios with my own characters in original works should I pursue a more creative job. Don't get me wrong, I still would like to write some of my ideas out because I find some of them great in the pony universe, but again I can't seem to get it going.
Add to that, my first creative love: art. I'd started drawing again and found it a much quicker way to produce content. Now, writing seems a bit more like a chore in comparison. (Would still like to find the drive/time, though.)
And then there's time. I went from working 60 hours a week with three jobs to a full time gig with benefits. Unfortunately, it was absolutely awful. I had a line of four bosses above me all with conflicting orders, hours that either started at either dark in the morning or let out at dark in the evening, and the environment was just plain toxic. I left that job and am currently somewhat unemployed. I work for my family, but I don't get a paycheck. I'm basically just on-call for 12 hours a day, no days off, having to be ready to jump any point my name is yelled. On top of rotating duties to be performed every two hours, it's made it hard to look for a new job let alone start any extra projects.
I can assure you all of this. Room 213 has crossed my mind every single day since I left off that last chapter. The current work towards the finale is 7,181 words, but it still feels like there's a lot more to go. Of the stories I would like to finish, this one is the greatest priority, but I want to do it right.
And let me add that, for what it's worth, I am extremely sorry for all the delays. I really don't know what else to say about this other than I've failed to deliver what I promised.
If anyone know of any good 2nd POV 'You' as a pony fics, please post. Maybe there's something out there I missed? Would love to see more.
Your situation is completely understandable and I think I speak for most whneni say we are willing to wait. And speaking of good second person fics look up sour sweet and you will find a pretty good series,
Like what reader238 said, I'm sure most of us here are respectable and reasonable people. I know only too well with everything that you're feeling...and I don't even have a good enough reason like you do. Anyways, I only wish the best for you and your ventures.
I'm sorry to hear things have been so rough for you, that's never fun. Don't feel bad about the delays, though. Real life takes priority, as it always should. I'm very glad you made this blog post, though. Reaching out to say hi to your readers is one of the nicest things an author can do. ^_^
Hang in there. Take your time, and get to a place where you feel comfortable. When you're ready to continue, we'll still be here.
This is recent. 2nd person romance with you as a pony. It's also choose your own adventure style, but not one of those ridiculous ones. I really enjoyed it.
