After toying with the decision, I've decided to take the plunge! Nope, I won't get a tattoo.
I have been toying with writing a Division+MLP+ Warhammer: Vermintide story. It sounds like it could be a mess but bear with me. In the Division story, a disease made by terrorists decimates a city. The Rule of Law is overthrown. Gangs and factions roam the streets. Also secret special Division agents are activated to clean stuff up.
Instead of terrorists spreading the disease, I am going to have bipedal rats from a multiverse traveling planet do the disease part. Instead of the Green death or whatever they call it in the game, the disease will be called Purple Haze. It makes victims act bipolar, they run around and spread the disease then go home and go into a coma for a bit. If they survive, then they get up and do it all over again. Also the disease has magical elements. Non medical meds can't cure the disease. The magical disease doesn't work like a normal disease. The best analogy to the disease is radiation. An infected person corrupts the area around them. Uninfected people that walk into the area get the disease and spread it to other areas.
Since it's a disease made by chaos magic, the symptoms can vary a lot. Some folks could go mad or homicidal. To reduce resistance and to provide tasty snacks, the rats infect the city. The chaos rats will be kinda like the Skaven from warhammer. Their planet is dying and they need a new home. Since rats are omnivores, they will be coming to Earth to eat almost everything organic.
Well, you ask, where does MLP fit in? Well, a third party basically gets the ponies and allied creatures on board by warning them that if Earth falls, the rats will be dropping by Equestria. There is also the chance that I might have the Skarn, the chaos rats invade Equestria anyway.
An alien organization named D-Core basically gets the ponies and humans together. Its a good match, humans have been fighting for centuries. They also have been developing more and more advanced weapons. Unfortunately, tech has weaknesses against magic. This is where the ponies come in. They can provide magical protection against chaos magic. D-Core can provide some magic using agents too.
This is where Joseph Ricardo comes in, the story is shown first person through his eyes. First person isn't really my favorite POV but hey why not?
This is his first mission and he's in a non combat role but things could change...
