cons in a shellnut
So I kinda fucked up and lost my copy of TSSSF and all the expansions I got and all of my prints (which was like 90% of my con swag haul) on a bus because Greyhound is confusing, annoying, and has never heard of any of the letters used in the phrase "customer service" but it's cheap so like I should really save up next time and take a fucking plane instead of losing $180 worth of stuff including a commission by GlacierClear
But despite that little setback, this past weekend was another one on the "best one of my life" list. I met a ton of friends I don't really get to see often like GaryOak and Skeeter the Lurker, and finally met some people I knew only as acquaintances like Megapone and Horizon. Obviously I can't forget to mention my main man Brasta Septim, who was at my side during most of the trip and without whom I wouldn't have gone in the first place. It was surprisingly relaxed and chill most of the weekend, a nice, subdued break from all of the insanity of working all the time, and I really felt that going there and talking to people about stories really helped push away a lot of the cobwebs that were still up in my brain in regards to my fics. Also, I may have lost weight because of all the fucking walking I had to do, even if I was eating like a fucking hog a lot of the time.
If I didn't mention you in this blog post, it's not because I didn't appreciate meeting you and stuff. Literally everybody and anybody that I met at the con was literally the biggest reason for going there. I can't wait for next year, especially since I won't be a smol child anymore and can drink with all of you fuckers at the Bar Trot and during the Writer's Dinner. Even without being at those events, though, I had the time of my life, and really look forward to meeting all of you people again.
And yeah I'm taking a plane next time
also like $800 not like $240
also I may owe some people some money
Was awesome meeting you there!
I need to actually make an effort to talk to people while there.
DAMN INTROVERSION.

It was nice seeing you.
Don't give me a cold next time
4087043 Awesome meeting you too, bruv! Can't wait to finally write that biker thing around my head and watch you freak over the main character riding a retro Moto Guzzi
4087339 I'm sorry about that. Hopefully I didn't give it to too many people. Mine passed in like three days or so, so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad.
4087051 Nothing wrong with just lurking– the world needs more listeners, after all.

Something I am more than happy to do.

I wish we could've actually sat down and had a chat. I was so stupidly busy this year, it's not even funny.
4088118 Would have been cool... I was quite busy as well, running all over the place meeting as many as possible.

Such is con life. At least there's Fimfic and Skype/Discord!
4088724 true that, and I have both Skype and Discord

You can PM me your info if you want.
mother of fuuuuuck I never set a goddamn foot in Quills and Sofas; it totally slipped my mind that there were people in there to fanboy over, and if I'd caught you I swear I would've thrown myself prostrate on the ground and kissed your feet.
Still. The con was a fucking magical time Hope to see you next time I'm there!
Seeing your patient and thoughtful responses to the Author Who Need Not Be Named is reminding me that I never came over here to mention how good it was to finally meet you at Bronycon. We didn't get a whole lot of time together, but you're chill in person (and I still treasure the time we all spent in that poetry collaboration).
I'm glad we both had a great con! And I hope it does lead to more stories in the near future.
