    Explanation... & something else

So, it's been a while hasn't it. Look, I know I should have said something sooner, but college has been a thing. That, and another reason entirely. I was honestly burned out of writing MLP stories. It was the only thing that I actually had to write and what I enjoyed the most. However, writing MLP stories nonstop really gets to you even if they are crossovers. So, let me say this up front, I am

    I'm back

Sorry about the unexpected Hiatus, but real life comes first. Just thought I should let you know that I'll be more active because college classes are ending for me soon. That being said, I do have finals to study for, so expect the hiatus to last a little longer. That being said, I was able to finish Chapter 9 of Sunset Huntress, so go read that if you haven't.

    An Update about my life

So, it's been a while. Sorry about the long silence guys, life has kind of been kicking my ass lately. That being said, I do have a new chapter of The Sacred Elements out now. Tell me what you think about it. Sorry if the chapter seems rushed, I kind of was doing it between homework sessions. Anyway, just thought I should tell you that I'm still alive and I'm still writing, but college comes

Top 5 Favorite Anime · 4:24pm Sep 25th, 2016

Hello and welcome to Atop the 4th Wall where entertainment rules. So, if you’re familiar with the show, you would normally expect a review. But, since I’ve been left in charge of the show, I am going to diversify it. So, I think I should start with this.

Before going any further, I feel like I should explain what anime is. Anime is a term that is often used to describe Japanese animated TV shows or movies. That definition, however, leaves a lot of open and closed material. So, here are a few rules to keep in mind.

Any Animated show is ok, no matter where it’s made. I say this because there are a lot of good shows that are made out of Japan.
No movies. I won’t be looking at movies because there are a lot that I have not watched and I don’t like movies very much.
I have to be interested in it for it to qualify. It doesn't matter if I haven’t watched a specific anime all the way through, I just have to like it enough.
If possible, I will mention multiple anime in a series. I can’t choose just one, so deal with it.

I think that is all I have to cover, so let’s get started.

Number 5

So as we all know, anime comes in all sorts of different representations, some of futuristic utopias, some of magical worlds, and othered of computer worlds. There all sorts different creatures in these worlds as well, like dragons and the like.

So, I have a question to ask all of you out there.

Do you want to be King of the Pirates?

One Piece (1999-present)

Ok, normally most people would skim over this, but I am really into the world of this show. One Piece is a pirate anime that follows a pirate crew called the Straw Hat Pirates wanting to reach the place known as One Piece and the captain of the crew, Monkey D. Luffy, becoming King of the Pirates.

That is as close to plot synopsis of this show as you’re going to get to me because there is much information to absorb.

Any way, if you’re not looking at the story, you’re probably looking at the characters and action. The cast of characters that this show provides is very diverse and extremely colorful that you will find someone you like if you look hard enough. Heck, if you want a main protagonist who is stubborn and will not give up until he absolutely beats his enemies into submission, Luffy is your man. If you’re looking for action, you have fights that span a good two episodes at least and about five to ten at the most. There is a lot of action for you to watch and it is all awesome and suspenseful.

One thing I will say though, just be careful when watching this, there are 750+ episodes to go through.

Number 4

Magic is a weird and wonderful thing that can do a lot of things. I use the combination of Weird and wonderful is because that is the best way to describe it. There is so much stuff that it does that you kind of want to live a world with it.

In fact, I know of a good place.

Fairy Tail (2011-2016)

Ok, now we’re getting into watchable territory. Fairy Tail is an anime that takes place in a world full of magic that follows the adventures of a guild called Fairy Tail.

As I think about it, there is a lot that is similar between Fairy Tail and One Piece. Both animes have headstrong and stubborn main protagonists, engaging characters, and very awesome action moments. The main difference between the two is that Fairy Tail has far less content than One Piece which makes it easier to watch.

If you want a good anime to watch, I would recommend this one.

Number 3

Ok, so in all honesty, I’ve had to think about these next two a lot. What came down to these two was how much I enjoyed seeing them. It also came down to the one I remember more fondly.

That being said, I need to go on the internet now. Wait, my computer has a virus? Oh joy, here we go.

Megaman NET Warrior/ Rockman.exe Series

So, yes I am actually putting all seasons of the Rockman.exe anime on here. The reason I do this is because the show feels like a more cohesive story if you watch it all together. This anime is actually based off the Battle Network side games and is really good in my opinion.

In addition to have a cohesive storyline, the characters are very memorable, the action scenes are decent enough, and there are not that many cringe worthy moments.

Over all, I would say give it a look if you're interested, but if you’re not, then there’s nothing you're missing out on.

Number 2

Ok, so now that I’ve talked about Rockman.exe as my number 3, it’s time to talk about my Number 2. But before we get to that, a bit of backstory as to how I started to watch this anime.

Back in 2013, when I was still in high school, a friend of mine introduced me to a very funny company of people. I won’t say who the company is because that would spoil the surprise. Anyway, I then watch this trailer of a girl going into a club and beating the shit out of everyone there.

If you know that the trailer is named Yellow, then you know where this is going.

RWBY (2013-present)

I will say this about Rooster Teeth, they know how to make a memorable anime. This was one of the first animated shows I ever watched and became a fan of.

The story is very good, the character are memorable, and there is a lot of both world building and character building. These is also some pretty sweet action and music as well.

All in all, a great addition to the wide collection of shows from Rooster Teeth. May Monty Oum, the creator of the show, rest in piece.

Number 1

So, going into number one, I knew I had to go with an anime that I really like, an anime I really enjoyed, and above all, an anime I could relate with.

Honestly there were a lot of choices for me to pick. But, I know which one I honestly love. Which one is that, you ask? Well, why don’t I let the quotes speak for themselves.

“Get your game on!”
“Let’s rev it up!”
“I’m feeling the flow!”
“Time to swing into action!”
“It’s time to duel!”

Yu-Gi-Oh! Series

I just had to pick this series, I couldn't pick anything else as my number 1 favorite anime. Now before the hate comments start to come in, let me explain something about me. Back when I first started to watch the series, I got really invested into collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards. I eventually stopped, but started again recently around the time Clash of Rebellions was out. Now, I would say I’m an ok Duelist with a big love of the card game.

Part of the reason I got back into the card game is watching the small clips from Arc-V. After watching that I slowly watched the early seasons (of the Japanese) anime and that’s how I got into it. The anime meant more to me when I watched them because I knew more about the card game and appreciated it more (although those moments of “duck the rules” are still a bit bulshit in my opinion, but anime logic).

Well, that’s my Top 5 Favorite Anime. You can leave yours in the comments below. Until next time, later.
