Blog Post #034-07102016: The Big Man Chapter 5 Preview #2 · 4:15am Oct 11th, 2016
Here's the second preview for Chapter 5 of The Big Man. Just a reminder that I am writing this chapter.
“Will the following students report to the Principal’s office: Twilight Sagan, Rarity Jones, Pinkamena Diane Pie, Jacqueline Apple, Iris Dash and Marilyn Flutters. Repeat: Will the following students report to the Principal’s office: Twilight, Rarity, Pinkamena, Jacqueline, Iris and Marilyn. Thank you for your cooperation.”
Spike tensed up when he had heard the announcement over the PA system. He had been writing an essay for history class, basically jotting down what he wanted to get out of this year’s lessons and not just the same old textbook lessons of years before. That seemed unimportant at moment when he stopped writing, the announcement weighing heavily on his mind.
It had not been too long since Spike and the Harmony Hotties returned to school half an hour ago, going their separate ways. He had got to his next class without incident, though he did notice a few looks from the students, no doubt wondering if either the football team or if the Cult of Butterflies had gotten to him at lunch, judging from the bruises on his face. Spike had ignored them for the most part, but felt that the last few hours of school were going to feel like eternity.
Spike, more than anything, wanted to be with Twilight and others. He knew that they were in trouble. That stunt with PA system had been Twilight’s idea and the rest of Hotties had a part to play in saving Spike from a lunch time beat down. Not that it mattered, thanks to Garble and his goons at Golden Oaks Park.
The only happy memory from that lunch time was that Spike showed that he wasn’t a pushover anymore. He showed he could hold his own, at least against one bully. Spike felt like he could take on anything.
Unfortunately, Spike knew the inevitable was coming for his the six girls that had meant everything to him. He knew they were going to be punished and there was nothing he could do. Spike loved each and every one of the Harmony Hotties with every fiber of his being. He wanted to dash through the classroom door just to be with them, but he knew that Twilight and the others would want him out of trouble, so he reluctantly stayed put, wishing class would just end.
Spike looked up at the classroom clock and glared at it, almost hatefully. Only a minute had passed since he stopped writing. He frowned and began to write on his paper again, hoping the minutes would go by faster.
“They’re in trouble because of me,” thought Spike, depressed. “After all that’s happened, my friends are going to suffer. This is so unfair.”
Good opening. And I wonder what Spike will do or if he can do anything
