While I will agree that Displaced has sucked some of the life out of HiE. (I really dislike it when what could have been a good story ends up being written displaced instead -- we need more of the epic stories in every genre) I don't agree that the feature box is horrible right now. A couple of them are quite funny, and there isn't a single mature fic on the box.

You'd think the steam engine for these stories would have rusted by now, but it seems people are like moths drawn to this flame of stupidity.

It's not like it's impossible to write these type of stories, it's just the people who write them make it impossible. Too many times have I come across someone who couldn't take criticism, or just refused to listen to reason. These stories are like meth, once you take a shot, you'll lose all sense of judgement.
