How soon? Later today soon, unless it's still Saturday or almost Monday where you are. The chapter's finished, I just need to go over it for one last edit, which is definitely better done after sleep.
As you may have noticed, I'm not a very fast writer. I'd like to improve that. Getting in the habit of writing a significant number of words each day seems like it might help. Of course, writing just to meet an arbitrary word count when you're stuck usually just serves to make the story worse, so I may have something new for you not too far off. Don't worry, that doesn't mean I'm planning on putting To Make Old Friends on the back burner.
So what is this new story? I'm not sure yet, but I'd like to write something lighthearted that doesn't involve making Fluttershy cry.
It's great that you're trying to write faster! But like you said, don't force out chapters. Writing is supposed to be fun. It's not supposed to make people stressed, and people who complain need to learn to be patient.
Update soon? New story? Huzzah!
Looking forward to seeing it, and curious about what this other project might be. If it's half as good as To Make Old Friends, it'll be worth reading.
