"I Have No Time" is a LIE · 2:39am Sep 27th, 2012
I love hearing the phrase, "I would, but I don't have time for it." It makes me roll my eyes and smile. Of course you have no time, you busy you; you have homework to do, classes to ace, work to get done, TV to watch, video games to play, and, most importantly, a facebook to check.
When some pony tells me this, they really say, "I would, but I don't know how to make time," or, "I am telling this because I really don't know the reason I that I neglect my stories."
For the first, decide a time, and stick to it. For example, I spend an hour after my classes just working on my stories, no matter how much work I have or how many test I have to take tomorrow. It is this simple dedication that lets me make time for the things I want.
For the latter, you have to ask yourself why are you doing what your doing. I write because I have good ideas, but if these ideas remain synaptic connections, they will soon fade. If they fade, then these ideas become meaningless. In order to give these ideas meaning, I write them down. To give them more meaning, I work on them, I develop them, I refine them, I polish them until they shine. Then, I share it, for who am I to hide these ideas?
When you ask yourself why you write, you will either find a great reason or a clouded reason. Both need to be refined in order for them to become your foundation. Without a good reason, you will say that "I have no time". Without a foundation, your stories will fall before they even begin to take form.
Make your foundation.
Always Sincerely,
The Music Man
