I'd Rather Marvel than be Jealous

It doesn’t take much to surpass me.

I have a decent enough style with basic sentences that sometimes flow wonderfully together.

Other times, I tap into a strange place, and I’m able to write beyond my level for a moment.

    Make Yourself Laugh

I've no clue what makes a good writer.

I once cared deeply about that fact. Read countless books and cried many times re-reading my works. Nowadays, I care much less, and write to write, so long as the process is enjoyable.

I am not a good writer.

Do It Today and You’ll Do It Tomorrow

I’m like anyone else in feeling like I don’t have enough energy to do whatever I am required to do.

writing over working · 9:26pm Sep 8th, 2017

Today was my last day at work.

Or, it would have been, if the line I operated on hadn't broken down.

I was glad when I woke up to that message, to fall back asleep and snooze into the afternoon, knowing that the next four months could be filled with snoozing in all I liked. At the same time, however, I can't help but feel a little sad at not knowing I would not be returning when I left yesterday. I had made a lot of friends at that plant, some that changed me in a way they'll never know—one of them even responsible for my current bio here.

I know that I'll see all those old dudes, body builders, bachelors, and crazy fucks soon enough, but still, it just blows that I didn't say goodbye to them.

Oh well. Onto B's current mess.

You may have seen this little treat somehow reached the featured board.

Sorry for releasing it as a first draft. To be honest, I was just going to upload every chapter then kerplunk, but got lazy after I finished running the first chapter through Grammarly. Lo and behold, the mess got featured the next day, and now I have to race to complete the second-draft before more peeps read the can read it.

Ain't it funny how laziness ends up as hard work in the end?

Anywho, I'm almost done the first chapter now. The introduction is more concise and alluring, the story opening to showing the world change around Spike while he remains the same—so the whole show vs. tell shtick. The scene where he says goodbye to his baby self (the embodiment of his childhood and flaws) has a deeper impact, and I even found a way to fix the damn doctor everyone's going on about.

Sorry if all this sounds like I'm complaining. I really am happy that people are reading words that I wrote—I just wish I had given them better words. But no amount of wishing will fix that—only revising and analyzing.

Anyway, about time I got back into the editing trenches. Here's a peek at the next chapter title as thanks for reading this blargh.

(One of these days I'll write a blog right.)
