SuperPinkBrony12

I'm a brony and a Pinkie Pie fan but I like all of the mane six, as well as Spike. I hope to provide some entertaining and interesting fanfics for the Brony community.

Yesterday night, I managed to officially reach the 1,100 followers milestone! Needless to say, I'm speechless. I most certainly never imagined getting this far when I started this account all the way back in 2012.

I don't have anything in mind to celebrate it, but I hope I can continue to make those of you who followed me proud and glad that you did.

    Episode Re-Review: Yakity Sax

It looked like Season 8 might be finally getting back on track after it fell hard from grace with "Non-Compete Clause". We had an honestly good episode in the form of "The Hearth's Warming Club" that finally painted the school in a good light, then we had "Friendship University" which at least gave us a proper RarityxTwilight episode, and then we had "The End in Friend" which managed to salvage

Episode Re-Review: The End in Friend

Season 8 kept on going, even as episodes started to be leaked ahead of time in other countries again. It looked as if the worst was over for Season 8 after "A Matter of Principals", "The Hearth's Warming Club" was widely praised and "Friendship University" was seen by most at least not an infamously bad episode (which Season 8 seemed to have an unusually high concentration of). And now we have

    Episode Re-Review: Friendship University

Season 8 returned to the airwaves around August, like always, but the first episode to greet viewers was the absolute disaster that was "A Matter of Principals", in which Discord became the latest character to be completely ruined. And the worst part was he got off scot free for his actions. Things seemed to be better with "The Hearth's Warming Club", which finally let the student/young six hold

    Happy Birthday, Daniel Ingram

Today is Daniel Ingram's birthday. He is the talented composer who gave us the many wonderful songs across FiM's nine seasons, including timeless classics such as "Winter Wrap Up", "Smile Smile Smile", "This Day Aria", "The Pony I Wanna Be", "You're in My Head Like a Catchy Song", and "The Magic of Friendship Grows".

Top Five Things The Equestria Girls Franchise Should Consider · 4:27am Nov 26th, 2017

Well, the YouTube series for "Equestria Girls" has officially launched and already it seems to be doing fairly well for itself. So I just want to take the time really quick, to throw out some things I'd like to see from it down the road. With the FiM movie getting a digital release late in 2017, and a DVD release coming at the start of 2018, don't expect a detailed review of the movie until at least after that (I'll need a copy to consult in case there are things I forget or need to double check). As always, this list is the result of my personal opinion, and nothing more.

5. Develop Secondary Characters
Season 7 was big on developing secondary characters for the main show (though which ones got that development was at times questionable), and from what little I've seen of the shorts, they seem to be keeping this up as best they can. But it would still help if some of the characters outside the Rainbooms were allowed to be focused on more, like we saw in a few of the promotional shorts for "Friendship Games".

4. Go Beyond Canterlot
The specials and the shorts have started to move the girls away from Canterlot High and out into the city more, but we need a little more diversity. One of the shorts leading up to the YouTube series (one of the music video ones) hinted at the idea of the Rainbooms going on tour, and that's a concept I think is worth exploring. The girls aren't going to stay in high school forever, and it'd be interesting to see what their lives are like when school isn't a factor.

3. Expand to 11 Minutes (Occasionally)
About 5 minutes is alright for a YouTube series, I guess, but it feels like a really limited approach for a spin-off that has so much potential. It doesn't need to be all the time, but every once in a while I'd like it if they could see about bumping up the run time to allow for stories with stronger pacing and stakes. They could even technically do two parters or more if they wanted (each short is only about 5 minutes, but combined together they equal more than that). Doing it often probably would place too much of a burden on the DHX staff, but a couple of extended shorts here and there would be nice.

2. Develop the Rainbooms
They're getting a little better at this, but it's still very obvious that the Rainbooms/Humane Six are just their pony counterparts boiled down to their most basic personality traits, and they really don't deserve to be treated like that. "Equestria Girls" can't just be the Sunset Shimmer show, because no matter how good she is, if she's the only selling point then after a while people are gonna get bored and the series will fade into obscurity. One good character does not a good series make, without more fleshed out personalities for the Rainbooms, I don't see this spin-off series going far.

1. Address The Topic of Sunset Shimmer's Home Sickness
If they won't do it in the show proper, the least they can do is address it in the "Equestria Girls" shorts themselves since Sunset Shimmer is the star and all. They don't even need to go in depth on it or make it the focus of a short, but this is something that's going to keep dangling overhead until one way or another the fandom has closure on it. "Mirror Magic" showed there's more than a demand for it, but that alone merely wetted people's appetites for more, especially since Sunset's home sickness subplot that got dropped from "Friendship Games", has yet to return.

And there you have it. That wraps up all these Top Ten and Top Five lists, don't expect another blog post until Christmas unless something comes up or I get more comics to review.

The one thing I'd like to see is Starlight return to the human world.

4734979 Actually, I'd like some ellaboration on the whereabouts of the human world's Starlight. Maybe she could be a transfer student, or be a new student at Crystal Prep?

Perhaps the human world's versions of Starlight and Sunset are roommates.
maybe even lovers

My sickest wish for an Equestria Girls short:
Spike the Regular Dog dreams what it would be like as a human.

That is all.

4734995
Speaking of the human world, where's human Sunset Shimmer?

Very little I can say beyond, in addition to everything that was already on the list:

1. Continue the movies (though save them for the MAJOR villains): With the web series covering the slice of life stuff, it would be quite logical to not stop the movies entirely; just only use them to cover the really big time villains [such as the human world's versions of Sombra, Chrysalis etc. and the return of the Dazzlings])

and 2. Give Spike his own spotlight episodes: Perhaps one of them could be a day at the dog park where he is hanging out with Ember's canine counterpart (who he can only understand because he can still speak "dog" as well as "human") and dealing with Dog Garble (aka the dog park bully) and another one could be explaining how he and Sci-Twi first met.

In some deleted scenes from Rainbow Rocks Sunset was having homesickness and considered moving back to Equestria. This SHOULD be added for the series.

4735479 Well actually, it was for "Friendship Games" not "Rainbow Rocks".
