Would you like for it to instead be a sidestory taking place in the same universe? I still have exactly one unnamed side character in the same volunteer group as Lisa Garnet, and I could probably fit in a nice backstory to make up for how Pony-Me builds off of MLP rather than setting things up itself.
'Cause aside from just not having much time to write in the first place, the idea that I should hold back a bit to get a few ideas rolling is also what's been pausing the updates on the story.
I just think making it a side story makes more sense.
You've got one story where a princess and her dragon assistant (among other characters) wake up to find their life was a simulation.
There are probably plenty of similar stories that could be told with vastly different characters.

Yeah. That's what I've been thinking as well. Like I said in the post, I've still got one unnamed character that has so far only appeared in about two scenes throughout the entire story. I could write the spinoff from her perspective.
