Lost And Found: Thank You! · 8:03am Mar 3rd, 2018
234 and 5 is a pretty incredible ratio for such a simple story.
Before we say our farewell to our time in the feature bar, I'd like to thank you all for your support of this commission story. If you enjoyed it, don't hesitate to give a little love to Twidash1993 for commissioning this story and giving me a cute prompt to work with. They were very patient with me in the writing process, and they are always a pleasure to work with.
So, going into this story, I just wanted to tell something simple. I had a lot of ideas for ways it could have been expanded, or ways to write the story differently, but in the end I really wanted to stay true to Twidash's idea for a sweet story about a son being reunited with his mother. To that end, I feel like I succeeded. This wasn't a story about breaking new ground, or playing with a clever plot twist. It is a story that you've likely heard before, but... that can be okay, sometimes.
I sometimes feel like, when I sit down to write, my efforts need to be focused on making something new or groundbreaking. Coming at an old idea from a new angle, exploring an idea in a unique way, or even writing a character that's different from the norm. That's a fun way to write, and it takes a lot of thought into how to tell the story. But, sometimes, there is pleasure to be found in telling something again. Nothing new, nothing groundbreaking, but familiar. Comfortable. You've heard this story before, but there is something undeniably cozy about being able to read a tale that has been told and re-told many times. To me, that is this story.
Again, thank you all, followers and readers, for the support. I've got another commission piece coming along, now, and I think this one will certainly be different!
All I saw was Spike and Twilight and I thought it was the clopfic on the box right now lol
