I don't know how much news makes it from the UK to other countries out there, but I'm pretty sure some if not most of you have heard of The Red Arrows. There was a crash at RAF Valley, not sure what happened yet and it seems the pilot survived, as one chute was spotted. It hasn't been released if it was a one or two seater jet.
...however, there was one fatality on the ground, an engineer. As sad as it is, this lad signed up for the job, he knew the risks. But it still doesn't ease the news. I mean, at one point in my life, this could have been me. But it makes you think... how often do the guys on the ground get recognition for what they do? We celebrate pilots all the time, but without those guys (and girls) on the ground, those pilots wouldn't have a plane to fly.
Per Ardua Ad Astra, my fellow spanner monkey. Blue skies here on out now.
