Lateness and Sickness · 4:43pm May 27th, 2018
Work on my stories basically ground to a halt this week while I tried to take care of my sick mother and brother, which is only made worse by the fact that I've been cleaning up after the mess of three people alone for months. Guilt-trippery and gaslighting have defined my life for the past few years and it's getting exhausting. It goes without saying that I need to escape to a realm of fantasy more than ever now.
All of that said, however, I present no excuses. In spite of all that I could have finished the chapter anyway if I'd stayed determined so I apologize. My major issue was actually finishing the last chapter early and then sitting around without feedback for awhile to wait to release it on schedule. I found working ahead without the valuable feedback of my readers to be a daunting prospect, because even the negative feedback I received on the first part of Preliminary Challenges was extremely helpful to the rest of the story's development. This story isn't episodic either. Weekly updates don't suit it as much as a full release would, so my new goal is to just finish every chapter as soon as I can.
My problems aren't the only point of this post, though. I'm also determined to make this up to you all by working on shorter stories between chapters of PPBC. There's definitely plenty of ideas and genres I can work with for MLP, particularly for 18+ readers as many of you may already know from my stories on other websites.
Catch you all on the flip-side of a faster, less structured update schedule.
