Just as it feels like I'm getting things together, everything falls apart again, and that I am just posting between one excuse to another. Having fixed my computer I was ready to begin the task of 'catching' up on posting, but life got in the way again. This time it was a my sister in laws niece, being only seven years old, having been diagnosed with leukemia. Needless to say that this was very abrupt and shocking to their family, but also to ours as we are very close to them. My father in previous years having been diagnosed with cancer, but having beaten it, I knew the hardships that were to come for both her and her family.
I am pleased to say that her chemotherapy has been beneficial, and just this week been released from hospital. She will be home schooled for the next two years, due to her immune system being compromised through chemo, and won't be allowed out of her house if at all. She is a very sweet girl and is expected to beat this in time. We're grateful for having caught this so early, but we are also sad that she will spend part of her childhood having to endure the ugliness of what cancer brings.
I'm sorry for leaving such gaps between chapters, but all the while I have written and will post everything I have after editing. (At least edited to the best of my abilities.) I would encourage anyone to take sometime to just be with family, as I have grown closer to mine this last month, and it has been most rewarding.
