Hullo from Cowlumbus · 2:44am Jul 21st, 2018

Columbus Ohio ceased being a cow town years ago as, much like me, it’s grown larger and spilled over its belt in the last few decades. But if BronyCon is in Baltimare, TrotCon must be in Cowlumbus.

Anyway, day one of the convention is winding down, and in many ways I have completed my mission. By 2㏘ our book had four new autographs. Brenda Chrichlow was first. What a wonderful, enthusiastic person. How could I not like Zecora’s voice. Plus she said she liked my hair.

Elly-Ray is a trip. Besides two autographs from her, I’ve got a Mist Mane stamp on my right hand. I might have bummed her out by not taking one of the Canadian chocolates she was pushing like it was her full time job.

Despite the rain and gray skies, everyone’s really upbeat, especially the show guests, their inner sunshine fixing the weather induced blahs.

As for me, I’m pretty happy too. My son is here for the day because he’s got work tomorrow. Because of transportation mixup/issues, my wife is his driver both down and back. This is her first convention, not just MLP, but completely first ever. She’s dressed as Zecora of course, even wearing ears... all day long. I’ll debrief her later, but it is safe to say, since she’s more gregarious than I, she had fun.

My coworker and his daughter are here too , and I’ve already given them their gifts. That went okay, but we were all a bit tired and hungry by then. After dinner we went to a joint called Super Awesome Arcade, with mostly pinball and a few arcade games. Their name’s an oversell, but we had a mini adventure.

There were a lot of familiar faces and I had hallway conversations with a few of them, PresentPerfect and RobC to be exact. Apologies to you both for talking your ears off.

Right now I cruising downstairs, waiting for the night’s music to start, behind schedule as usual.

Tomorrow I will sit in on both VA panels and a talk or two. Like last year, I will go to RobC’s speedfic panel, but sorry Rob, I plan on ignoring the prompt. Instead I’ll utilize the time to outline a silly story my son and I have yammered about for half a year, the same one I bent PP’s ear about earlier today.

Only one other exciting thing for tomorrow: the New Gray Mare, a local vendor who I’ve talked to many times at several cons, is going to try to dig up something for me, a G3 pony called Precious Gem. I think the reason for my interest is obvious.

G’ night folks.

Sounds like you're having a great time! It's nice that you were able to enjoy it with Bluebook and your wife. Have fun at the concert. I'm hoping to see the Shakeups at BronyCon.

Talking with you is always fun. :D And I saw your wife a second time, a little later on. She's quite nice. :)
