"Dreamwalker Dash" is NOT abandoned. · 12:30pm Sep 6th, 2019

I got a message from someone asking me if I need help with writing "Dreamwalker Dash". They seem to fear that I have abandoned the story, so I'm clarifying that here:

"Dreamwalker Dash" is NOT dead.

It is a little awkward how ridiculously long this revision of a few chapters takes place already, thanks to depression, other stories and life stuff, but the story is far from dead. The revision made nice progress lately and I've got less than a chapter left to revise before I can continue writing it.
I'm battling a bad cold right now, which you can read about in my update here, but the convention I visited last weekend did wonders for my lingering depression so I will likely finish a large part of the remaining revision on Monday, if the cold is gone by then. If not, I'll get it done as fast as I can, because I really want to continue this story. It's been a long time since I have felt that inspired for a story and with the ideas I got for it, it could be my next, big hit after "'Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!'" and "Aunt Millie", so there's no chance I will abandon it.
Now, there's also the thing with the Season 9 Finale, and therefore the end of the show, coming up soon, and that's a good moment to assure you that this won't affect my writing negatively. Even once the show is over, I'll keep writing fics for G4, it's the thing I care about and live for. "Dreamwalker Dash" will continue getting written until the story is finished and other, new stories will get written as well, until I do my last breath on this world.

Please have a little more patience with "Dreamwalker Dash". The story will return and what you will get will be great.

Stay easy as a filly!

That's the spirit! We should all finish what we started and G4 will live on. I mean, look at Avatar: the Last Airbender, that show was early 2000s and its fandom is still there.

And I take you won't let Cozy wait either, right?

Franky, I only hate those authors who really drop that without a note nor something.

I can relate to that a little, to authors dropping a story without a note. It's often hard to write a note. If something unexpected happens, you want to inform your readers about delays. But at the same time, you often don't know how long that delay will be and if you tell that to your readers, it could happen they assume the story as dead, since you can't tell them a continuation date, and move on from it.
It's why I sometimes haven't given information about delays in the past, when I didn't know how long the interruption will last, which wasn't a good way to go about and I'm not doing that anymore. But each blog entry about a delay of a certain story could easily give the impression that the story is dead and never getting continued because of certain issues, so it's not easy to write them with that fear sitting in your neck.

And, yes, Cozy's story will get continued soon, too. I'm not making a return announcement yet, but if nothing else happens to my health, the story will continue next Friday.

Yeah. Though I meant those who really drop dead. I saw many good stories who were never finished, as the author went permanently offline without a note

It can start out the way I described it. Small stuff happens that makes a story getting delayed. The author doesn't dare to announce a delay, because they can't tell when it will be over and fear that people will see that as a sign that the story is dead. Then stuff is piling up on the author and the story is getting delayed further. But they still can't tell for how long. So they keep putting it off until they have forgotten about the story.
I haven't forgotten about a story so far, but I've been there with the other things. It's nasty.

Yeah. I pray for you that you won't suffer the same. It's stressful work, yet getting permanently offline isn't a solution.

I would never do that. I haven't forgotten about a story so far, not even about two certain, unfinished ones from 2014 and 2015, and I won't ever forget about a ponyfic. Everything I write will get finished.

Glad to hear it! I have the same goal.
