You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

Message in a Bottle (Part 2) Print Run · 3:04pm Dec 2nd, 2019

Hey pones, got something super exciting to share with you today! So way back in April, I ran a publishing project for Message in a Bottle, one of my most successful stories ever. In the end, we printed almost two hundred copies for that print run, shipping to fourteen countries.

I promised if that project did well we'd print part two eventually for everyone to enjoy. I'm happy to announce that I'm opening the project to publish Part 2 of Message in a Bottle.

This project will be much like the first one, in that we bring back my original artist, as well as adding totally original fiction that won't be seen anywhere else, as well as the opportunity to get new chapters written about aspects of the story that didn't make it into the first version.

But it's been quite a while since then, and in all that time I've learned a great deal about how publishing and distribution work, and made contacts with a company that can facilitate shipping outside the US. As a result, shipping on international orders will be much cheaper than last time, making part 2 of this awesome story much more affordable for those not in the united states.

If you'd like to get involved in this printing, check it out right here: https://igg.me/at/message2

I haven't read this yet but what is the death tag for? Literal death or death of identity (as in different body and loss of memory)

Both. Identity and the loss thereof is a huge part of the story, and a good number of people die on and off camera.

Wonderful to hear I can get the full story in dead tree format.

I thought your exciting news would be that you won the pony-to-human contest.

No, but I will be posting that story to fimfiction once it gets a cover.

Part 2? Fiddlesticks, I don't even have part 1, do you plan on doing a reprint of the first part at some point while I'd love to buy part 2 it seems a tad bit nonsensical to own the second half of a story alone.

Yes, there's an option in this campaign to get the first book.

Blast it Star! Just when I thought I had money saved...

Lol, ordering now.

Wonderful! I was a little upset to find that I had barely missed the last run by the time I finished the story, so I hope to be able to get a hard copy this time around.

Ooh, excellent!

Just to be safe:
1) Since I missed the first print run, the Perk I want is the $85 both-books one, right? And does that come with all the bonus content from both books, or do I need to do something else to get it?
2) Are there any characteristics of the special packaging I need to be aware of given that where I'm staying, large packages are delivered to the main office and the recipients are called in to pick them up rather than being delivered directly?

1. Yes, the both books option does include both of the books being published, including the bonus content from both print runs.
2. Specially packaged just means I'm going to securely bubble-wrap everything in little box or something. It's not going to be the size of a house or anything, just a little bigger than two beefy books.

Got the first book when it was on its print run, and it now sits nicely on my bookshelf - so I don't think I have any option other than to get its twin

I am in the same boat as you, time to spend money on another book.

My computer crashed (badly) recently and I finally had time to go through the over 1000 updates... I am VERY glad I found this buried in there.... and I will be doing the same as you.... dropping cash for another hardcover because its sibling would feel lonely.

Wooo finally managed to get money together for this and bought! I got volume 1, and I decided to stop reading the fimfiction version until I could finish volume 2 in dead tree format :D
