First off, hoe, he doesn't have to listen to a bully. You go all off about forging your own path, but why can't Midoriya do it too?
Second, he's got the most powerful quirk in the world, and currently is on equal footing with you at 8% of its power. There's almost no way you can advance to the same level as he at the same rate. And if you argue that it isn't the quirk that makes a hero, it's the person, then you're still on the wrong end! You're a class-A jerk who bullied him your entire life and told him to die. Your friends are wary of you and you like to make enemies. Your paper-thin, reluctant morality isn't very heroic, you think?
Third, one day Midoriya is gonna get tired of all this and is gonna kick your butt in two separate directions in one of your fights. He's not gonna like it, but it'll happen. He always saw you as a friend, and you always saw him as trash. What kind of hero do you think you are? Endeavor? He's powerful and wins battles, but nobody likes him. Midoriya is a ray of sunshine that wants to make others happy, and he has All Might's quirk as well. The difference in likability is astounding.
(And fans love Bakugo, but hate Endeavor. If that isn't hypocrisy at its finest...)
Fourth, Midoriya is already leagues above you. He got to your level exponentially after a few days of having a quirk, let alone a powerful one like One For All. You won a sports competition, but Midoriya beat real villains like Gentle and freaking OVERHAUL. If this keeps up, he'll leave you in the dust.
You can still probably be a good hero if you get your rear in gear and make up for the awful personality you have. You'd be incredibly toxic in real life. Heroes are humble, but you're much too prideful. Heroes are empathetic, but you're insensitive. Heroes save, but you're only intent on kicking butt. I know you're improving, however slight it may be, but you are far, far away from being the kind of future hero that Midoriya already is.

I think bakugo is more like Vegeta, true it doesn't excuse him, but people hate endeavor more because unlike bakugo, endeavor is a user, a manipulator. He ain't encouraging or anything, bakugo encountered kirishima, endeavor only had todoroki to surpass all might, bakugo wants to do it himself
