You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

State of the Scribe: February 2024

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

State of the Scribe: January 2024

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

Hey everypone, coming in with the monthly update for January. Lots of excitement to be had in this month, and you can all probably see. Let's get right into it.

So, first and foremost, there are eleven hours left in the Message Act 2 print campaign. If there are any last-minute people who want to hop in, you can do that here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/message-in-a-bottle-act-2-print#/ . I'll probably make another post about it once the book proof comes, but nothing else until then. As of right now, we're rapidly closing in on that 700% finish line, just a few more books away.

Firstly, we've got a story ending this month. Twilight is an Espeon now will be wrapping up. After this month, it will go into the cover queue. As soon as Zutcha feels like getting around to that, it will make a transition to fimfiction. My hope is February, but that's ultimately in his control, not mine.

There's a new story joining my patreon this month: Fine Print. This commission was such an awesome idea, I just couldn't turn it down. It follows a down-on-his-luck graduate who just got his big break with the job that could make his career--but discovers too late that he's renting his too good to be true apartment from Discord. It's in Equestria, and if he wants to escape the otherworldly wrath of his erstwhile landlord, he'll have to faithfully serve out the lease.

I'll link the first chapter next month, though it will also be on my Patreon on the 16th if you'd like to go directly to check it out. As usual, the other chapters will be for patrons only until the story gets a cover, which will hopefully be in February as well.

Other than that, we have Through the Aurora moving towards a conclusion. With the state of the outline right now, it should be finished by the end of February. So that's exciting.

Thanks so much to all of my supporters for an absolutely fantastic year. I should've had to stop writing these literal years ago, but your support has made it possible for me to continue. Thanks so much for your support!

Happy 50 stories and 100 blogs!

Twilight Sparkle is an Espeon Now isn't on the calendar.

No Voyage of the Equinox?

Yes it is, on the 10th and 31st.

Voyage of the Equinox isn't scheduled, I just update it whenever I can. That usually comes down to Mondays, but I don't want to make promises when I don't know for sure I can keep them.

With all my other stories they're written a month in advance or more, but since Voyage involves waiting for votes and reading comments, I can't really do that.

Oh. I thought it updated on Mondays.

Ah, makes sense. Thank you.

Hey, anyone know what an "Upstream error" is? Because that's apparently what ate the image for me, and it sounds like a problem that's not on my end.
