The cure for sadness (a true story) · 4:14am Jan 27th, 2020
I was pretty sad a few days ago. I didn't want to bother with life and I didn't care about going to the job centre to attend my appointment. Apparently, my sadness was evident, but that's fine. I didn't make an effort to hide it: I was too exhausted to try.
It's amazing how much better and warm I felt when I was hugged. I felt it literally shiver out of my bones and I became so peaceful and tingly that I was almost in tears.
Lesson here? Hugs are the cure to sadness. We need a National Hug Day where people offer others a free hug to make them feel better. Why aren't we doing this already?
