Like Nyx? Like Space Opera? Like entering a whole fully realized universe six years in the making?

I hope you are well. My, the falcon truly cannot hear the falconer these days can it? I hope you are safe.

Switching rather violently in terms of tone and substance. If you read my posts you might hear some allusions here and there to a massive " project".

The Project, which I have been a part of on and off again for about six years, is an Alternate Universe in the truest sense of the world. AS I put it in a comment I just left : ''

Calling it the tip of the iceberg does not even come close to conveying what you are dealing with here. The outline of the backstory alone here would take a multihour PowerPoint presentation to explain ( I know, I gave it in real life to my little brother once when we were hunkered down for an incoming hurricane).

Suffice to say this, you are stepping into a fully imagined UNIVERSE. Complete with a coherent cosmology and many overarching narrative arcs. If this feels " real" well it better, for everything happening in the background ( which may never be explained to you as a reader since it may not be narratively important at the time) is the results of MANY THOUSANDS of manhours of work. I know of nothing in this fandom that has been worked on as hard and as comprehensively as the universe that this story is a part of.

What I am talking about here is the " Harmony Project" ( though that name may very well change) The Project was first conceived by Recon777 as a serious adult sequel to Pen Stroke's Past Sins
, one that centered on the idea of " Nyx truly living up to her vow to Luna, her vow to protect the ponies". What would that looked like? Recon wondered . And so he set off, to basically write the "Lord of the Rings" to Past Sins "The hobbit".

But the tale grew in the telling, beyond even that. Now it is not just a sequel to Past Sins, but many other things. A wholly realized universe.

I myself am writing a novel length story in this world as well, which will take place between Past Sins and " Black Feather" . you can read about that more here.

The thing is you probably wont see any more updates on Recon's page for the next couple of years as we work feverishly behind the scenes. Similarly I wont post any written chapters for the next couple of years ( though you can hear me read the first two chapters of an incredibly rough draft by clicking on these words. )

In fact I did not expect any of it to be published for at least a year . But one of the writers had different plans. Duvet of Reason has decided to release a Flurry in Time . This is the third of the novel length projects in terms of story chronology but the stories current state of completion is inversely correlated to their chronological position, and thus even though this is the last story chronologically, it is the first one to be complete.

And now its here. Landing today and jumping straight into the featured box .

You might say, well , if its the third story, should I not wait for those first two stories to be completed?

My answer is No, you should not. Firstly this is a far future story set 1700 years after the conclusion of Black Feather.

Secondly, while all the stories are in the same ( six years in the making) universe, they can be enjoyed in separate pieces. One reason is that they are very different genres. While my still unnamed story is a bildungsroman/ mystery , Recon's Black Feather
is a war epic with high fantasy elements, and Flurry In Time is Sci Fi/ Space Opera. LOOK AT THIS ART! Look at Nyx in her Captain's uniform! Squee!

So Nyx! ( and obviously Flurry Heart) Incredibly deep and complex worldbuilding! Universe building actually! Go read it now!
