Calm Wind

We writers do not speak. We do not hear. We have no songs. We have no pictures. We only have scripture. From words we bring images. From words we bring emotion. From words we bring life.

Piercing the Heavens Arc 4 update (4/17/2020) · 9:03pm Apr 17th, 2020

The sass with dat ass

Hows everyone doing? Just thought i'd give a quick update.

I have indeed decided to focus my efforts on the 4th arc of piercing the heavens. The small sequel to Weight of responsibility will become a side project i intend to pu time into here and there whenever i feel like it in favor of getting arc 4 up and going.

As for arc 4, i'm still working out the outline for it and trying to connect all the dots. Im definitely more than halfway through it, but im taking my time to make sure i don't contradict myself or find out as im going that i screwed up when a certain thing was supposed to happen. I've also, as i mentioned last blog, i keep accidentally start going into minor details in certain scenes as if im doing chapter outlines while im trying to just get the event progression nailed down. If i did that all the way through this would take me months to do, btu sometimes i cant help myself. :derpytongue2: Theres a lot of character interaction going into this and thats where i tend to start doing it, maybe im just that excited to step away from the endless repetitive action for a while. Im also feeling good about those though. Ive only gone through one action sequence thus far and as i piece this together i feel like i've learned a lot in terms of pacing and whats needed/whats not from my foray through arc 3. All in all i feel like the mistakes i made in arc 2 (character focus but the main plot stretched it too far) and the mistakes i made in arc 3 (poorly planned action sequences that happened too often and lasted too long) have put me on just the right course to figuring out how to make the final arc exactly what it needs to be. I'm sure it will have its share of mistakes as well, but i hope to avoid the mistakes of the past.

I currently have no time table. The 'shall-not-be-mentioned' worldwide situation right now has hit my motivation here and there, but im working on it when i can and will let you all know when its all in place and ready for production.

So hang tough! I'll get more Wonderbolt fun (and trust me there will be lots of it) to everyone as soon as reasonably possible.

beyond excited for arc 4 :rainbowkiss:

At this rate I’ll be done rereading/correcting all the old chapters in time for the start of arc 4. It’s been fun, I didn’t realize how many little details slipped my mind trying to keep track of this story for the past 3+ years.

This is how I’ve been keeping myself occupied during quarantine. :derpytongue2: My family thinks I spend too much time holed up in my room, but at least I’m being somewhat productive. I was a homebody before all this started, and now that I’ve been furloughed from my job (and 90% of the businesses/restaurants are closed) there’s not really any reason to leave the house.

Nice to hear, definitely excited.
While your action sequences are always fantastic, it really was the characters that kept me going through the first million words :raritywink:
Seriously, while arc three did seem a bit heavy on the action, without that lengthy setup I wouldn't have cared nearly as much about the outcomes for our individual Bolts. After all of this, I'm sure arc 4 is going to be great, and (facepalm) at least %20 cooler.
I'm sorry...

Yay! I can't wait for when the new arc comes out! Keep doing what your doing, Calm
