Because I know more than half of you are waiting for this story, I feel it is only right for me to tell you what's going on. You see, it isn't that I haven't been (entirely) leaving it to rot, it's that I'm doing what needs to be done more than anything: a rewrite.
Transcendence is my first fic, and by that extent, my worst written. It is also my best in terms of story, and this combination makes bad juju. I've looked back on it and cringed at how horribly it is worded; phrased; structured; told, not shown; and everything else related to my penmanship. To avoid bogging down this blog post, here's part of a Skype conversation I had with a friend concerning this idea. TL;DR, you deserve nothing but the best that I can give.
With this mindset, I can only look upon Transcendence happily if I go through with this. Sorry it sets the day I finally finish this story back further, but in the end, it will most certainly be worth it.
I shall continue to wait, then.

As someone who loved the story at first blush and grew increasingly disenchanted with it due to the exact reasons you specified, this announcement makes me borderline aroused with joy.
I will wait until the sun burns out if I must, but just don't let it go away forever, because I have to know what and how and why. To everything.
I will not pretend to be excited about a further delay. But I will say, if you feel it will truly give the greatest reading experience, then I will happily wait it out in order to get a great reading experience!
If you need editing help of any sort, I'll be glad to give my advice and help you out.

I'm of two minds about this, but the second one is the tiny little bit that gibbers and screams naow a lot. Honestly I can agree that the rest of the story isn't up to par with your more current work as far as structure goes, but as you said, story wise it's my favorite. I'd take anything I can get, but I'm just as happy to see you improve on your work, even if it means I have to wait a little longer.

Transcendence was the first fic I read and it's still one of my favorites. It's good to see it moving forward, even if it takes a small step back first. I can't wait to read the new and improved Transcendence.

I approve of this. It is relevant to my interests. Transcendence ftw. That's the first story I read off EqD. The only Mane Six that doesn't appear in the fic is Fluttershy. Corejo is best writepony. I wish you would hang out in #fic more. Syntax. I slowly creep up behind and whisper in your ear:

I was just lookikng for how Transcendence is coming along, find this, and now I'm thinking you're in almost the same boat as the guy I edit for. So I pretty much know where you're coming from (although, from your other blog, it sounds like it'll be a pity that this fic didn't finish before tomorrow)
