My Very Last Blog Post - Goodbye

As of now, I think the time has come to finally abandon my Fimfiction page. I don't particularly want any involvement in the MLP community any longer and I hold no interest in continuing to be an active member. While my page remains open to everyone, I've logged out permanently and don't think I'll return to it or use it again. No more blogs, no more stories, no related content - it's over.

I'm never going to be the person that... (Facts of life)

I'm never going to be the person who goes out drinking with friends in the pub at the end of the week,
I'm never going to be the person to enter a stable relationship,
I'm never going to be the person to cry for those who won't cry for me,
I'm never going to be the person who gives up over a little tough break,

Either stay or leave. Don't play me about.

    If you're staying, stay.

If you're playing around with me, kindly fuck off. I'm not in the mood.

Either follow or don't follow. It really is that simple. Make up your mind already.

    Thank you. :ajsleepy:

Need a distraction from your low mood? Here's an old photo of my guinea pig :3

Because I'm sad and because my guinea pig is an adorable fwubby enchanted squeaking potato, here's Oscar laying down and snuggling into his brother, Guinness's guinea bum. Don't ask why he did that, just look at how cute he's being. Requires all the ear rubs. Should have called him Sir Purrsalot. 🐹

''Applejack, are you gay?'' French Translation - if you're interested.

Back when I introduced this story a few years ago, I was approached by a French Translator called Rainbowsoarin007 and they requested me to allow them to turn my story into a French translation for viewers in that part of the world and those who speak it.

So, I went to rehearsal at the studio with the band I was talking to.... · 7:44pm Jul 28th, 2020

It was ace!

I had to go to the city of Hull, a place I would avoid at any cost for how scummy and risky it is, particularly in the area I went to. I was pretty scared and nervous to be walking around with a bunch of my gear and one of my nicer guitars strapped to my back. The people in that city wouldn't hesitate to stab you in the back or cut the clothes from off your back, and I have a bit of a personal grudge with Hull, so it didn't sit right with me.

Negative aside, the good part was finally seeing what it was like to work with a band, a thing I have so much wanted to try out! We all got on great, in fact. I was nervous, shaky-kneed and anxious about screwing up (which I did in some areas). The band I'm working with is working on a project, so I can't spoil anything just yet, but the lead singer and guitarist ran me through some of his riffs and taught me how to play. As a warm up before any of that happened, we did what any true grunge band would do: play some Nirvana! Specifically, Lithium.

We had some technical difficulties with our amps. Well, I did. :twilightsheepish: My amp kept cutting out and eventually wouldn't work before I could even do the first verse and move to the pre-chorus. It was awkward, it was annoying for all of us, and we lost about a half hour of a four hour sessions, so...yeah. Thankfully, it worked in the end and we went through the entire song!

Where I was standing when we began...I made a bad choice. In my left ear, the PA system, in my right ear, my guitar amp with distortion on full power. Oh, and the drummer hammering away behind that. I was too busy trying to stop my eardrums from exploding and from getting jumpy from all the guitar notes coming from the frontman. It was a bit scary, to be truthful.

I was the most experienced guitarist in that room, with a little over three years of experience, and the bassist and lead guitarist are about the same with over a year. Even in comparison, I still felt terrible. The riffs I was shown to play that the frontman came up with worked well with me, but taking my SG along didn't suit me well. As I've said, it was Hull, so...I'm not taking my precious Mustang over there. I'd love to, but in an area that's mostly full of muggers? Nope.

That was that, basically. We did Lithium, played a couple of their songs, had a good time playing about with our own little riffs in the process as well as talking about Nirvana, Alice in Chains and all that good, general guitar talk. T'was a good day, even in spite of my anxiety. Oh, did I mention that the studio was boiling hot inside, on an already hot but windy day? Like a sweat-athon. :rainbowlaugh: I thought I was gonna melt or something.

Anywho, I've never attended a rehearsal before, nor have I ever worked with any musicians openly like this. I'm glad I tagged along for it, but holy Dashie, am I exhausted! All I wanna do is sleep. That being said, I want to get out of here and chill for a bit before I turn in. Looks like I've got more reason to practice vocals and guitars a bit more.

I wish I could do an actual recording session.

Keep it up! keep playing! never stop! this is how you get better ^^ I've been playing music in over a decade and let me tell you, it all still happens. Amp problems. Instrument issues. Fingers not cooperating. more and more.

keep it up dude

It's not too expensive to do. It depends where you go to record. I'm not sure what it's like if you're in America, but over here, I think it's in the £100-£200 range? I dunno for sure. Rehearsals, on the other hand, are cheap. The studio next door to the one I went to was £5 up to £25 for four hours! But the studios are in a bad area and are a bit dumpy. Still, who's gonna argue with a cheap room with inclusive equipment? :ajsmug:

Yep, I intend to until the day I die. I love doing playing and working up a sweat! Issues are so common and bound to happen, live, rehearsal or at home. All a part of the musician's life and their love.

Over a decade? Wow. I've seen you rock out on the drums a couple of times, and I'm impressed by it. I'm saying that after giving the drums a go for myself, finding how hard it is. You and our drummer make it look so easy. It's so confusing! As long as you enjoy it, keep at it. 💛
