    1950s Sci-Fi Review Bundle (Part 2/?)

So, uh, been a hot minute since I followed up on that little 50's movie review thread I started a while back, huh? Guess my narrative writing isn't the only thing that suffers from sloth. Or rather, I've been sluggish and getting around to posting my mini-reviews here, really, I've already had them written

Hello everyone, or everyone still around. I know I've spoken up in blog posts a few times recently, but I felt like making up a proper status update for where I am writing-wise.

Wow. It's hard to believe that the show is really a full decade old. And I wasn't even there for half of it.

What a show, right? Besides being so doggone good, it brought us all together, didn't it? I know that sounds kinda sappy, but seriously, being a Brony was what actually got me on to the web and talking to people. And it got me to actually start writing things, too. I can't say that I have a lot of people my age IRL that I really connect with. And you know what? I think with the whole pandemic thing, having people of similar interests to talk to and share stuff with outside the home has honestly helped keep me sane during this time.

So thank you. Thank you for all being there.

And thank you to the show writers and VAs for crafting such a wonderful little show.

Ten years, is a heck of a milestone. :yay:

Sadly I did not get involved in the show until right around the start of Season Five, but hey, I'm very grateful to the show, and the creators, and the fan community for the great work that's been done in the name of Equestria and those colorful little ponies.

I only got in around half-way through Season 6 or so. "To Where and Back Again" was the first finale I got to see.

It was a sort of full-circle moment for me. Believe it or not, it was Queen Chrysalis and her horrifying, doesn't-belong-in-a-little-girl's-show design that got to give the show a second look. And lo and behold, my first big finale had her as the big bad.

It's why Chryssie will always be one of my favorite villains. I owe almost my entire Brony-ness to her. :twilightsheepish:

Heh. Hehehe. Nice... It's a better story than how I became aware of the fandom, that's for sure. XD

If you're morbidly curious, I talk a bit about my own discovery of the show here.

But really, regardless of how you found out about the show or the ponies, as long as you enjoy them (and aren't a jerk) really I'd say that there's little issue. It's just important that you have fun and like it. ^_^

And to many happy returns to you as well. 10 years, man... like wow.
