[Political Post] Now More Than Ever...

I know some folks here are probably sick of me talking about politics, and I can respect that. Which is why you can skip this entry as always. However, I really hope that you do not, as this one is especially important.

    Creative Burnout Sucks

    It's been a while, hasn't it?

Once again, I'm really sorry that the next chapter of Paradise Found hasn't shown up. I *have* worked on it in fits and starts, but it continues to fight me. I have a general idea of how I want the chapter to go, but I'm struggling to get the words to come together in a way that meets the high standards I set for myself in previous chapters.

Regardless of what everybody listening observes IRL, I hope everycreature among my followers has a Happy Hearthswarming. While I must apologize yet again for my lack of output, I wanted to give you all something for your feed.

I hope that you and yours had a tolerable year, if not an enjoyable one, and I hope you and the ones you care about stayed safe. My best wishes all around!

Got some good news and some bad news · 4:52am Dec 21st, 2020

Hey guys,

Exactly as the title says. I'll give the bad news first, as is customary.

The bad news is that I am having a wicked case of writer's block on the M/M fic I was working on. I dunno if it's a matter of painting myself into a corner with how I want it to go, or that I'm just not as in the mood for M/M stuff at this particular moment (I'm very flexible bi, so what I'm in the mood for tends to vary from day to day). I've got a good start to it, however, and hopefully I can pick it back up once creative momentum is on my side.

That brings me to the good news. Turns out I'm really excited to write the sequel for The Griffon of Paradise. As I type this, I've already thrown down outlines for the first several chapters. I don't know yet how long this story is going to be, but given that it isn't a reproduction of a diary cataloguing a slow, long-term transformation, it'll likely be shorter than the first.

The sequel, tentatively titled "Paradise Found" until and unless I come up with something better, will be told strictly in third person and primarily from Rainbow Dash's perspective.

A brief synopsis: Rainbow Dash wants to believe the journal is a hoax, but can't. Despite Twilight's best efforts - including omitting some pages of the journal before giving them to Dash - the Element of Loyalty sets out to find the island and bring Gilda home. Though she finds Gilda, she also finds she's bitten off more than she can chew.

As always, I have no idea when the first chapters will be ready. But given how excited I am to write this, it shouldn't be very long.

Until next time!

Hmmm... but Rainbow cannot just set sail when she doesn't even know the direction of the island, right?
How about this? Since Gilda seek partnership and reconcile with Dash, the Map might recognize this as a Friendship problem and show (only?) Dash the direction? Or perhaps, the Island Spirit made some sort of agreement with the Harmony Spirit to send Dash to the island?

Something tell me that RD won’t be going alone on this one?

You can't force creativity. Best to follow the inspiration, especially with that premise. Looking forward to seeing what comes of it.

Remember how the island flickered on and off the Friendship Map in the epilogue? There ya go.
