Maids and Monsters Story Idea... · 5:00am Feb 11th, 2021
So I have an idea for a potential future story, which may or may not be a second person story (there is a part of me that is considering taking a break from writing 2nd person stories) and I thought I would just throw it out there and see what you all think.
The idea is that the main character(MC) is a young mare who has been down on her luck, until a rich stallion hired her to work as a maid at his mansion. While the MC starts to develop feelings for him, she has two problems. One, this stallion is as dense as a doorknob and doesn't recognize her advances and two, there are other maids in the mansion who are interested in this stallion. To make matters more tense, most of these other maids aren't normal ponies but are monster ponies.
One thought is that while the relationship between the MC and the other maids might start off tense, they gradually start to become friends.
I am also considering trying to use some more background characters that normally don't have much established show/fan lore and trying to somehow implement them into this story/series.
So what do you all think?

I think the cluelessness of males to the hints dropped by females is an untapped well that can go on for 200,000 words or more!
Mares eavesdrop to overhearing the others commiserating to their friends about what they just tried and proved not to work. "OK, she tried the next thing I was thinking of so now I don't have to do that. What else can I try? I know! I'll drop off a naughty magazine with a picture story of the rich owner of a mansion making out with the pool cleaner mare!" Everything goes according to plan until she finds the tentacle-monster mare already hard at work when Mr. Clueless walks out, waves in a friendly way, then keeps going.

5452174 That's kind of the idea, with the MC starting off as a rival to the others but as the series goes on the maids start to become friends despite their romantic love interest. Also other stuff might happen outside of the romance/competition.
This might be ridiculous, but what if a part of the rich stallion's manor also served as a maid cafe? Would that be a bit too goofy or could that provide some interesting potential?

The more eccentric the rich stallion, the more interesting he is. Maybe he made the cafe so he could dress up like an Old West piano player and sing ragtime to anypony in the cafe. The monster girls think this is charming as Tartarus and only the new pony thinks it is kind of odd.
