I wish we could teach children like this, it'll help quite a bit, I'm sure.

I think one of the reasons it's not handled like this (at least in my state) is that people seem to believe that any exposure to the idea will somehow cause it to happen. Or say that it's corrupting their children. Any education on subjects like this, or abuse in general, even death, is often met with backlash. I once heard a parent saying that their child shouldn't have to hear about anything about of these things.
They say ignorance is bliss, but it can be one of the most hurtful things people have to suffer through.

What I noticed that was interesting is how there is always talks about preventative, but no talk about what to do after the fact, or even what the fact is. At least for me, I've noticed girls are immediately given a pepper spray as soon as their old enough, are constantly told they have to always be 'watching'... But these are all preventative measures. But unfortunately, you're right, somehow parents believe thinking about it exposes the child. No Karen, it informs the child.

I guess I'm just an old man, but while I was in school girls with pepper spray got in trouble.
Then again, I'm from a state that thinks the only thing that needs to be said about sex in general is "Don't do it." and they think that miraculously solves all problems. Notoriously blames the victims, and never wants to hear about anything wrong happening (if they don't just flat out deny it happening.)
Personally: I strongly feel that parents who won't have this sort of conversation with their kids constructively but then get bent when the schools step up and provide the classes, maybe shouldn't have had kids in the first place.
But that's just me.
Late comment. But after.cody, I find this especially poignant.
On another note that animation is fluid
