************

Greetings, everyone. Tonight, I will be reviewing Transformers: Animated season 1 episode 14—Nature Calls. I must say that this was a very enjoyable and interesting episode to watch although a little freaky to say the least. This is the first and only episode in the entire series to feature this alien disgusting substance called space barnacles. Apparently, the space barnacle monster is capable of brainwashing any Cybertronian into a mindless zombie of sorts. I guess that’s kinda cool and a little disappointing that they never appeared again throughout the rest of the show.

Nonetheless, those weird things were definitely an interesting concept to see on screen. At the end of the episode, we see that the very thing those space barnacles were controlling at the beginning was actually Megatron’s long-lost body. Issac Sumdac saw his body and rejoiced to discover something that would bring Megatron back to full form again. But... I gotta ask: did he not see that Decepticon insignia blatantly revealed on its chest? He clearly knows who the Decepticons are, so there’s no way he would be ignorant of what their insignia looks like. Unless he ignored that completely and just decided that if there’s any headless robotic body out there then he will retrieve it regardless of its faction.

But aside from that plot hole, I actually liked how Prowl, Bumblebee, and Sari interacted with each other in their little camping trip. We see more of Prowl’s appreciation for nature, Bee’s continual hunger for game and video entertainment (very accurate), and Sari simply just having fun at camp. Huh, I too love nature a lot and to spend time watching birds flying around and sing their calls. So I can relate to Prowl in that aspect, but as for camping... well, I hate mosquitoes. That’s one thing I hate about camping. Darn bugs!

Anyway, this was basically a very fun adventure type of episode. Jeff Bennett, Tara Strong, and Bumper Robinson had a lot of fun voicing their respective characters. Plus, the ending thereof was a perfect way to lead us to the two-part finale: Megatron Rising. Stay tuned for that, folks!! This gets a B!

Peace!

You know it's only the Female Mosquito that drains blood, right?

You learned Mosquitos and not a lot of people know about that bit of information.

It's time yet again...and once again, the rule I set for myself bites me in the ass, only this time I have no real options...expect for one. Let talk briefly about the man who brought Detroit back into the golden age.
1. "Sumdac" is Cadmus spelled backwards. Sam Register, executive producer of Transformers Animated, explains in The AllSpark Almanac II that this was done on purpose. The name was thought up very early in the making of the show: during BotCon 2008, story editor Marty Isenberg mentioned that it was in the show development before he signed on.
2. A non-finalized character model of Isaac Sumdac was featured in Cartoon Network's Transformers Animated press kit. Compared to the final model, his body's proportions are entirely different, as is his hair. He also had some kind of stylized "S" emblem on his lab jacket, where the finalized Sumdac has a name badge. The "S" appears to be in his hair now (the cause of which is revealed in "TransWarped"). Here's the model for reference

3. He has an Indian (specifically, Bombay) accent in the English language version and a Chinese accent in the German dub (despite growing up in rural Michigan).
And finally...this is going to become a thing isn't it? Fine.
4. A proposed episode of the Transformers Animated cartoon's cancelled fourth season, titled "Mirror, Mirror", would have featured Sari and Bulkhead traveling to a Shattered Glass version of their universe, as revealed in The AllSpark Almanac. In a review with the fansite TFW2005, Derrick Wyatt said that he'd have loved to have Shattered Glass material in Animated, if only "to have Fanzone say 'This is why I love machines!'" You can probably guess where I'm going with this. For curiosity's sake, have a link. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Category:Shattered_Glass_Animated_characters

I got one for both of you. You know the Predacons Waspinator and Inferno from Beast Wars? Both of their beast modes are female. Only female wasps have a stinger and only male ants have wings.
