New WWB fic, this one's a core canon side story =O · 9:17pm Jun 18th, 2021

If you've been following these blogs, you should know by now that I've become quite good friends with thedarkprep. Today she has her own Who We Become story, titled Under Her Spell, which shows us what's going on with Trixie during Rainbow Rocks! A little more info below.

This came about because we were talking on Discord about the other WWB fic not written by me, Spring and Spanner, and she had an idea for one about EqG Trixie. Unlike Spring and Spanner, this one had my involvement from the ground up, both as a consultant and proofreader. I didn't really need to do a lot with her ideas, so I can't claim a lot of credit here, but I did give her some info about the universe that isn't publicly known yet to make sure it jived with what I've got planned.

More to the point, Prep is one of currently four people who is authorized to write core canon WWB stories (meaning I'll reference back to this fic in my own stories, just as if I had written it). This is because her vision and writing style sync up nicely with mine. As a side story, this isn't a required read to understand WWB stuff going forward, but it'll come up here and there in my stories as well when Trixie comes into play.

Of note, this is not her original idea. This one, being set during Rainbow Rocks, actually barely touches on WWB stuff. It could very easily be released as a non-WWB story. This is a prequel to her original idea written for the Pride and Positivity event, since her idea didn't focus heavily on LGBT themes so it wouldn't have been eligible, so she wrote one that would be. Her next story (The Opening Act) will have a bigger connection to current WWB stuff, as well as a connection to this one.

And of course, it's an extremely good story. Friend or not, I wouldn't put this as part of my core canon if I didn't feel like it's worth being there. So while I'm off writing my Deltarune story, please consider checking out thedarkprep's WWB stuff to get your horse soap opera fix!
