The Ultimate Enemy: Redemption?

Hello everyone, as I am writing the chapters for the second Ultimate Enemy, I want to know what you want to happen to Dark Spike.

Should I have the girls and Spike redeem him in the 3rd story of the series or have him defeated in the story instead?

I choose redemption. No one is a lost cause. Not even Spike. Too many stories involving his mistreatment almost always end in numbers of ways: Suicide, villainy, genocide, etc.

Well, considering the last few chapters of the 2nd story and his behavior towards even the other species, now I'm not so sure. He seems incapable of being reasoned with. And if that's the case, then I guess defeat and/or true death is the only option. Or is it?
