    Transformation on Island Ideas...

Well, as I try to get more people interested in the Tropical Post-apocalyptic Story Contest, I get more ideas and try to throw them out there and see if these prompts might encourage others with their entries.

Question of the Week #152 (Even more NS)

Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week.

So, tying into last week's questions (feel free to look at that question if you haven't already), I wanted to talk more about Neo Somnambula: Desert Lotus.

Could Sea Pods/Cities be a great starting point for an Island Adventure?

Hello everyone, so as I try to motivate others to participate in the amazing Tropical Post-Apocalyptic Story Contest, I stumble upon various videos that give me some ideas. One such video is the one below:

Question of the Week #151 (More NS)

Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week. Admittedly I've had a hard time figuring out questions to ask and the fact that I've been wotking on other non mlp related projects doesn't help much either.

I've been having trouble focusing on my mlp projects as of late. I've even been having trouble working on Act 3, so I've decided to try to read through the whole story so far.

    Apologizes...

Sorry for not being frequent with my Questions of the Week. I've been busy with some projects as well as homebrewing DnD 5e content. :twilightblush:

Yeah, that's not a great excuse, but it is what it is.

Hopefully I'll have an idea for a question or two later (that's the other problem, thinking of questions I haven't already asked), we'll see. :rainbowwild:

Question(s) of the Week#18 · 7:24pm Aug 3rd, 2021

Well, I haven't been seeing a lot of replies to these lately. Not too if it's just timing in regards to posting the blogs or if people just aren't enjoying them anymore.:fluttershysad:

However, until I have an answer, I'll keep going?

Today a thought popped into my head and I thought I would share it. The idea is a story where Moonlight Raven ends up owning a house in the woods... A house that either is or contains some sort of creature/entity (think kind of like Monster House). After interacting with this being the two develop a bond and gradually start having feelings for one another.

The first question is what you all think of this idea?

The second question is based off of perspective, would you rather:

  1. Have the story from the 1st Person perspective from Moonlight Raven's viewpoint?
  2. Or have it be 2nd person with the perspective being from the creature/house?

Thank you all for reading. I look forward to your comments.

I’ve always found second person fics to be a bit immersion-breaking, since what “I” do isn’t always what I would actually do.
That said, a story from the perspective of the house would be fascinating. It’s like enemies to lovers but on steroids.

1st person view. To this day I still can’t tell what people mean by second person view. I’ve read stories where they post two versions of the same chapter. 1 in first person, the other in what they say is second. I can never tell a difference as it just feels like they copied and pasted the first person version.

Hmmmm 1st person from the view of the house? :moustache:

I like the idea. (Who is Moonlight Raven tho)

Is Moonlight from the dark fics? :twilightoops:

She's the pony from the end of "Canterlot Boutique" who looks like she'd be named Moonlight Raven, because if you're not important enough for your name to actually come up in the episode then they aren't going to bother being creative with it.

I think this story would work as long as both characters grow and compromise during the course of the story.

5563866 Agreed. :pinkiehappy:

5563772 I mean... I suppose it's possible, I just think it would make more sense to be from Moonlight Raven's point of view.

5563785 As Herald said, Moonlight Raven is a background pony from the show. Now I did use her in my story Ask Roseate Grimsbane, which does technically have the Dark Tag, but it's mostly due to Lovecraftian "Horror" elements.

TAsk Roseate Grimsbane, the Witch
NOT A CLOPFIC! Roseate Grimsbane is a unicorn mare who tries to live as peacefully as she can in Equestria, or as peacefully as you can when you're a witch and your husband is an eldritch being from outside our known universe. Ask her some questions.

5563694 There are times where I do like to write 2nd Person Stories with the idea being that the reader takes on a role in the story, but I can understand that it's not always for everyone.

To be honest, I kinda like the 1st perspective (Fromt the story I’m currently proofreading for you) more... That’s probably because it’s new thing.

I...don't actually know the show that well :twilightblush:

She's too minor to get onto the TvTropes page, so I had to use the FIMFiction character tag's existence to justify having the right mare.

Interesting *strokes beard* :moustache:
