You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

Hey pones!

I'll try to keep things short this month, since I've been running long in the last few. Forbidden Places is in its final act, Sisters of Willowbrook is still only just begun, so both of those are trundling on. As far as monthly stories, Return to Sender is nearing its conclusion... after literal years of monthly updates. I guess you can write a whole novel 2000 words at a time. It just takes... forever.

I've already got a cover picked out for it. Hopefully the story can make it to fimfiction come November.

Got a pretty interesting Mific this month too. Without spoiling it, I'll just say that's a unique take of Beauty and the Beast with an Equestrian and HiE spin. So check back on the patreon come the 20th for that.

I also have a short story I'd like to put up sometime this month--but it's waiting on the cover, and I don't really have any control on when those get done. It's a Sweetie Bot story, written for a contest at Everfree Northwest. And yes, it is radically different than the other entries that have been popping up on fimfiction. I went with a totally different angle than they did. No hedge mazes.

Other than that, I've also been working on a novel for publication outside fimfiction, and I'm 75,000/100,000 words of the way through it. For now all I'll say about it is that it stars a bat some of you might know, and that it's a magical girl story with some TF going on. I'll probably finish the first draft this month, but since I mean it for proper publication, there will be plenty of revision to think of, and a professional cover, so... might not be ready until the holidays.

The attentive among you will probably remember my 2021 goal to write 4 novels this year. I can safely say I'll complete at least half that goal. If I can really press, I should get as far as 3.

As usual, Together We can be read for free on patreon if anyone wants to, and I'll post the finished version as a PDF as soon as it is complete. https://www.patreon.com/RealStarscribe/posts?filters[tag]=Together%20We&sort=published_at]https://www.patreon.com/RealStarscribe/posts?filters[tag]=Together%20We&sort=published_at

Thanks again to everyone who chooses to support me. It's a dream come true to be able to write pone as long as I have. 5 million words of it now, with another million on the way. You made these stories possible.

What follows are the current flock of Patreon-exclusive stories. The first chapter can be read by anyone, and the following chapters are exclusive to my patrons. The story will migrate to fimfiction once complete (as Return to Sender will soon do).

Dreamlands: The story of a batpony who ventures into the dreamlands to try and rescue Nightmare Moon from banishment and save her outcast tribe. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-45878879

Frames of War: A Warframe crossover in which an old-war relic is opened on Equestria, unleashing the Infestation. Their only hope may lie in the hooves of a single Tenno. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-frames-35421681

Return to Sender: Sequel to Message in a Bottle, this story chronicles Harmony's disastrous first contact with an alien race, through the eyes of Olivia's descendant. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-return-27346632

Tall Tale of Sweet Sauce: A comedy about an ancient Equestrian "villain" returning from his banishment to earth as a little colt. Adoption may get in the way of his mysterious scheme. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-tall-46197856

Diplomatic Solution: Equestria is uplifted into a spacefaring society, not to be received into a perfect utopia, but as the last best hope against a conquering force of magical aliens, who are sweeping across the galaxy. Ponykind doesn't know much about war, but it does know how to make friends. Maybe there's a way to solve things that doesn't need weapons. https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-30394496

I'm as on board as a super glue enthusiast cheating in a surfing contest.

I'm looking forward to reading Return to Sender, since I loved Message.
