Mhm! That's right, I'm doing another one of my Series Reviews! This time, I'm doin' The Three Sisters Saga. This isn't counting the non-definitive sequel. why? Because fuck you, I'm lazy. Anyway, ON WITH THE SHOW!

Warning: This should go without warning, but spoilers abound. If you don't want to hear spoilers for those stories 'cause ya haven't read them yet, don't read beyond this point.
Summary of The Three Sisters:
It starts off at the somewhat end of the finale episode of the 2nd season of MLP:FIM. Right around when Chrysalis is sent flying by plot devices the power of love. This story explores the possibility of Rarity having been one of 3 changeling queens, separated at childhood by a tragic accident. It then delves into the reactions of the Mane6 and the princess of the sun when they discover this.
My thoughts on The Three Sisters:
Honestly, I was somewhat cautious reading this. It had both a [Dark] tag and a [Tragedy] tag, which for me are red flags telling me to be wary. Why? I tend to hate dark stories, since they tend to be gore and/or sex for the sake of gore and/or sex. Not only that, it sometimes turns out to be written by someone who has no understanding of the concept of [Dark] stories. [Tragedy] is usually almost always misplaced and misused when I see it, so red flag there, too. However, I read on, reasons being as follows:
1. This is one of the admins of the site. I think he may know what he's doing.
2. It has been recommended so many times, I just couldn't say no again when Csquared08 told me to read this for a series review.
This story blew me away. It was above-decently written, it actually made me feel a bit sorry for Rarity, whilst most stories would make me laugh with how they failed, and it used it's tags correctly. I loved it, and when I remembered it had a sequel, making it a series, I couldn't wait to read the next one.
Summary of The Three Sisters: Extended Family:
This starts off somewhat later from where The Three Sisters ended. It delves into a more lighter, happy feeling that the other one, this one exploring the option of there having been daughters of Queen Chrysalis who would usurp the throne after having witnessed the Queen fail in the attack.
My thoughts on The Three Sisters: Extended Family:
So far, since it IS incomplete, I find this story to be quite interesting. I tend to stay away from Alternate Universe Stories a lot, but I've decided to get into it. This is certainly a good story to introduce me to the category.
Rating on First story: 8.7/10 Will read, favorite, like.
Rating on Second story: 8.4/10 See above.
Rating overall: 8.55/10 See above.
Yer a moron. Extended Family references many of the events of that story.
Also, D has another story, Deceit, which is now related due to one of the more recent chapters of Extended Family.

Tragedy and Dark set off red flags? *Sigh* Unfortunately, for me most people seem to share that opinion.
It honestly just bums me out. Maybe I'll try writing something happy for my warmup once my writing season hits. BTW have you gotten around to checking out my story? Maybe it could change your mind about Dark/Tragic stories?
