Happy New Year 2022 everypony.
I wanted to put together a blog post to update everyone on our status and share a bit of information. With the recent release of the Trials of a Royal Guard physical book Crystal and I are marking that as the close of our time as MLP fanfiction writers. That is probably not a shock as we've been inactive for years now. It has been a pleasure writing for you and getting to know so many great people. It is time that will be cherished.
A few questions I get that I want to address honestly:
Will Crystal finish Crystal's Hopes?
No, she will not be finishing it. She is also not comfortable with me finishing it. To put a point on it, any incomplete story will not be finished either.
Will there be any more physical book prints via yourself or another avenue?
No, Trials is the last.
The Quill & Blade website looks sketchy. What gives?
We made a mistake and let the domain lapse. Someone else grabbed it up and put that stuff on it. Avoid it at all costs.
Where do I get the physical copies of your books?
At this time that is not possible.
I've heard there is a new version of Trials of a Royal Guard. Are you updating FIM?
No, but you can Download the Free PDF. The hardcover is also the new version.
Can I use your characters now that you're done?
We request that you not. We're not going to stop you though and we don't wish for people to report others for doing so.
When will I get the signed physical copies of books?
The books are being printed. I expect to have them in everyone's hands (outside of international) by the end of February 2022.
Will you be writing anymore?
We're doing a bit here and there. All original fiction. Perhaps one day it will show up somewhere!

Huh, I didn’t expect this to show up in my feed, but I guess random surprises are what I get for having a tracking shelf for all printed stories. It’s really a shame to hear that CW won’t be getting a complete print of just the first book, admittedly. I hadn’t known that the current volume wasn’t the complete story when I bought it and was confused as to why that was for a while.
With this news, will the remaining incomplete stories be marked canceled? It’s kind of a significant issue with the site catalog when stories aren’t taken out of the incomplete and on hiatus pool because then users who prefer not to read canceled stories and are seeking up-to-date information about fics on the site are not able to do so. Unfortunately, I don’t think an account that doesn’t have a recent log-in date will deter people from message spam about the status of any incomplete stories. It also makes it easier to answer the question about whether CH or originally planned future stories will make it to print since the site doesn’t register retirement blogs and they can also escape the attention of users seeking to find out what happened.

I hate to see you go but I love to watch you leave. I never said it while you were active because it would be weird, but with some distance it's just so adorable for a couple to write dueling perspectives about their avatars falling in love. Come on! How was every comment on those stories not "awwwwww". That must have been so fun and romantic. I hope you two got a lot out of it, and if you ever write again you'll share it with us here.

As one who recently found, and is now I guess about done with, this series, it's a shame to see that it will never be complete and finished.
Nonetheless, I thank you and your wife anyways for the very high quality series.

My copy arrived today, and it's bittersweet knowing that it's the last time I'll be ordering a book from you. I really liked the foreword you put in.
The Silent Knight trilogy and all the related tales of its narrative universe are the stories that made me approach and then explore fimfiction, and in fact it remains one of my favorite stories.

Just received my books, it was a joy reading your stories, even if I never really was along for the ride, thank you for being a part of my, and many others journey through fimfic, even if my first time reading I wasn't able to really 'get' it, due to age.

Not sure if you still check this site or not, but I didn't want to not express how much I enjoyed your stories and the AU that you and Crystal created. I thoroughly enjoyed your characters and their struggles. There were FREQUENT nights where I stayed up FAR too late for my own wellbeing simply because I NEEDED to find out what happened next!
I can't remember the last time an author had me that invested, so thank you for that!

Sorry, fella, but I don't know anyone who has physical copies. However, you can check every so often the webpage Ministry of Image, in which they sell physical copies of My Little Pony fanfictions. I think it wouldn't be odd if the entire Blade part of the Quill and Blade universe (as the Quill part apparently will never be finished) was sold on that page in the future.
