I can't contain my excitement! · 4:43am Jan 13th, 2022
I just saw the second trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and I am amazed! The trailer gave me everything I could ever ask for crammed into a minute and a half: a hub stage that develops more and more as you rescue Waddle Dees who reside in said hub, a two–player mode where a second player can join as Bandana Waddle Dee, the first–ever fishing sub–game (about time, considering Kirby likes to fish), an adorable creature that works with Kirby to rescue Waddle Dees, a new variant of everyone's favorite talking tree Whispy Woods, the return of the Tornado Ability, and the thing that every Kirby fan jokes about...
Kirby with a gun. A blunderbuss, to be exact.
One of the buildings in the hub level had a Sword Ability hat and a scroll on the front, which also gave me hope that Ability Scrolls from Squeak Squad may have returned, and the colosseum in the background of the hub could either be a place where you battle others like in Kirby Battle Royale or act as the new game's version of The Arena. This is further backed by the fact that Meta Knight challenges Kirby in said colosseum at the end of the trailer.
To celebrate the release of the new Kirby game, I'm going to write a fanfic about the game when it comes out! The story's name? ...A New Generation in the Forgotten Land.
If you want to, try to guess which Equestrian will be joining Kirby during his latest adventure.
And it's coming out on March 25th, the day Sauron fell. (I wonder if the villain will resemble him in some way? Kirby's already destroyed one Sauron-inspired villain, Dark Mind)
I love the Kirby games for their combination of lighthearted atmospheres and rainbows, and dark villains.
I'm as excited as you! I also like something that you didn't point out: the way some of these abilities are used in 3D. Like, that one where you dig a circle around a group of enemies and this makes a powerful attack. Now I really wonder what else they came up for the other abilities.
Also, have you remarked that, when Bandana Waddle Dee uses his spear-copter, he releases little beams that go down toward the ground to hit the enemies below? I wonder if this will be the same with the Spear Ability or if this will be something proper to Bandana.
Haha, yes, Gun Kirby! I actually called that there was going to be a "Gun Kirby" ability a few days ago. To quote:
Overall, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is looking AWESOME, although I'm very disappointed they went for a new Drilling ability instead of the return of the Animal ability. Come on, we're fighting the Beast Corp Army (spoiling that just in case,) Animal Kirby would have made perfect sense for a digging ability! Other then that, though, things are looking pretty great!
And BANDANA WADDLE DEE'S playable! Always love it when Bandana gets an important role in a game.

I noticed both of those things. The way the Tornado Ability could freely roam around would make it much easier to control than in the 2D games where it zooms left and right almost uncontrollably with a single button press, the only thing you can do being to slightly alter its trajectory and height. And I'm looking forward to seeing the full potential of the Needle Ability, seeing how it rolled in the first trailer.
The little beams from Bandana Dee's spear must make it easier to hit enemies with, since it looks like he can't control his height. I also noticed a different spear spinning around to the right of Bandana Dee. Could that be part of his moveset too?
And speaking of Bandana, I have a theory about how he didn't get caught. The Waddle Dees in the trailers were simple ones that didn't have any means of defending themselves, while Bandana Dee was a skilled fighter who can easily fend off bad guys.

Yeah, but there are far too many animal enemies for the Animal Ability to return. It would be way too common.

I might be misreading the comment, but... there already was an Animal themed ability? It debuted in Squeak Squad? It had a digging theme, and even a drill attack?
Besides, if they were worried about too many animalistic enemies, they could have just made Gaw Gaw, the original giver of the ability from Kirby Squeak Squad, the enemy that gives Animal and left it at that.
But, eh, I guess you have a point. Besides, it's silly to get so worked up over minor things like this. I'll stop complaining about it.

Oops, I mistyped. I went ahead and corrected my comment.
