One of the worst episodes of MLP 🤦🏻‍♂️ · 7:44pm May 4th, 2022

Idiotic writers will breed idiotic episodes.

What the fuck is wrong with Rainbow Dash’s parents? The fact that Rainbow never once told them that she became a Wonderbolt and all her accomplishments as a Wonderbolt speaks volumes of their familial relationship. Did their own parents raise them that way? Did their mothers constantly wipe their ass and kiss them up and spoil them? How come they never took a hint from their own daughter that they were constantly embarrassing her in public? Oh yes, because they are idiots with a size of a pea brain.

It only took Rainbow snapping at them and yelling at them for them to finally get a wake up call, but no...they paint themselves as the victim as if they did nothing wrong. Yeah, sure, shooting fireworks in the middle of the show—endangering the Wonderbolts in the process—screaming their lungs out in a microphone to cheer for her, harassing everyone around them, publicly talking about their bath time—nah, they did nothing wrong.

Then the episode had the audacity to paint Rainbow in the wrong simply because she gave them a reality check. So remember, kids, if your parents embarrass you in public just to cheer for you, shower you with praise without giving any actual criticism, discipline, or mature encouragement, suck it up and don’t call them out! Otherwise, you’re just ungrateful. What an absolute toxic moral to teach children.

Josh Hamilton is the one who wrote this episode. It seems to me you should never let a person who suffers from parental issues or was spoiled as a kid to write a children’s cartoon episode.

Oh, and screw Scootaloo too. She was the one who brought Rainbow’s parents in the first place, told them everything, and blamed Rainbow for not being grateful for her parents’ support despite not clearly understanding where Rainbow is coming from.

Dear Lord, I loathe this episode with a fiery passion. This episode proves that some people shouldn’t be parents.

At least we now know Rainbow Dash's folks are alive.

If only a competent writer wrote a better script for them....

You know, I don't blame you. I not a huge fan of the episode. The only thing I like about this episode that we know that Rainbow Dash parents are around and alive

(Pat shoulder) Amen, brother. Was at least funny seeing Scootaloo on that slingshot

Yeah, I don´t really mind this episode, but your opinion is as valuable.

I know you´re not into this show anymore, but what would be your favourite episode?

Great choice! One of my favourites as well. Personally, mine is Discordant Harmony.

Rainbow's parents aren't any worse than the likes of Phyllis Cloverleaf, I'll tell you that.

I mean, seriously! SHE was so terribly written and developed that it makes the likes of Vignette Valencia tolerable, and even after realizing there were better paths than division and fear she still never learned to be a good parent for Sprout. Not to mention Gillian M. Berrow, who normally did a very great job writing for MLP, co-wrote one of the laziest and most toxic scripts ever.

How many times are you gonna shift every single criticism I have for certain characters you’re biased for towards characters in Gen 5 or Grogar?

5655717
🤷🏻‍♂️I dunno. It depends on my moods.

Other than that...I apologize for constantly bringing my criticisms of something you like into whatever other thing you're criticizing. I've been feeling awfully low on the inside.

5655718
Okay.
If you want to express your disagreement on what I said, just say so instead of diverting the topic of my post to some other character I’m not even talking about, alright?

5655719
Okay.

In all honesty, I personally never saw anything wrong with "Parental Glideance". I mean, yes, I will admit that Rainbow's parents were getting way too carried away with cheering her on, and that aspect did make me cringe a bit, but other than that...I enjoyed the episode.

5655721
Okay, that’s fine. Different opinions.

The bottom line is that Hasbro needs to hire competent writers who don’t drag the morals down to the ground with toxic bullshit that will taint the minds of children watching the show. Mlp may have had a great run, but it had so many issues that made me break up with it.

5655722
When you put it that way, it’s a lot like how the MLP G5 film basically made me have little faith in future installments of the series being any better. Unless Hasbro, Entertainment One, and Boulder Media start thinking outside the box with how they can make the series amazing with a capital ‘A’, I’m pretty much going to be an anti-G5 person.

In other words, I agree that Hasbro should hire more competent writers going forward.

5655723
If that’s how you feel about it, that’s fine.

I’m still pretty much optimistic about it and that it will succeed. And that the returning characters will be given more backstory and depth and be just as likable as before....unlike THESE TWO MORONS!!

God, I became so uncomfortable during my first viewing of the episode, because Rainbow's parents kinda reminded me of my own family.
