Hello to all still reading.
Sorry about the super long delay. Life got complicated, and I had written all the easy parts and was struggling to write what I had left.
I had kept intending to publish the next chapter, but every milestone I came to I talked myself out of it knowing if the story wasn't done, it would be like last time and just be right back to more months of no update. I kept telling myself I should really just finish the story and then update... so I did. Some of it may still be a bit rough, but I think I'm at a good point where I can move forward with posting and work out the remaining problems with editing and not rewrites.
It's been an interesting 2 plus years of working on this. I'd never written fan fiction or anything even remotely this long. It was supposed to be easy. A story that took place over a week. I figured drain a Rainboom a day, plus some Shadow Bolt/Cinch nastiness, maybe 2 chapters a day so like 14 main chapters, maybe 1500 words per chapter, easy...yeah that didn't happen. I mentioned last post that I was looking at 38 chapters (with 3 epilogues). So I finished out with 43 chapters plus the prologue and 3 epilogue chapters we're looking at 50 chapters total.
It's late, I'm working up the courage to press publish. I hope you enjoy the new chapter. I promise you will not have to wait as long for the next chapter.
