General Updates and Stuff · 1:31am Oct 17th, 2022
So, first off, I’m not dead. I’m lurking and getting ready to begin writing on the story for October, but I wanted to give a general update and a few other things.
So first off, I’m not dead, I covered that from the outset. I just haven’t been active on FiMFiction much (the quickest way to interact with me is through Discord, actually, Velvet Red#2004). Instead, I have found myself neck-deep in things such as “anime” and “school”. I’ve discovered a new form of media, and as per ASD, my hyperfixation often lies within whatever I’m consuming a lot of, which is usually whatever’s shiny and new. I’m sure it’ll pass and I’ll be more active here, but right now, I’m into anime and music (even more so than I was).
Speaking of music, I’m working on Billboard Breakdown 1960, but those songs aren’t as interesting and I’m trying to increase production value so that’s slow-going. However, that matter doesn’t concern the majority of people reading this.
The main issue here is that, likely because I’m consuming so much media radically different than media concerning MLP, I’ve found myself in a bit of a writer’s block. Like, maid cafés are really cool (just the concept), but how do I work that into Equestria? I also have two headcanon personalities inspired by anime, such as an Astolfo-like Thorax and a Hideri-like Lil’ Cheese, but I have no means of utilizing those ideas.
But also, I’ve sort of been chipping away at a super-long project, I’ve mentioned it before, I think. It’s inspired by a podcast by author Andrew Hickey called ”A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs”, right now I’m simply referring to it as “Unnamed Rock History Project”, and it’s going to take a long time. That’s pretty much a given since that podcast isn’t even finished yet and will likely be going on for at least 6 more years. However, I’ve got 155 episodes to work with and that’s plenty of material for me to use. I’ve written up 4 and a half chapters, but am scrapping that and starting from square one, where I now have almost two full fairly hefty chapters written. However, I haven’t really been thinking about any other stories beyond that, so the best I’ve got are some alright but not spectacular ideas (in case me not hitting the featured box for the primary releases since March for the last two months didn’t give away that these aren’t my best works).
As for future stories, I have no idea, though am thinking about trying something different for NaNo (more info on that coming in November). I’ve got several things I want to work into my stories as a result of recent events, crossdressing, more Raining-verse stories still, of course trans and gay horses, and other things I’m keeping silent on, but few ideas on how to integrate those (and an outright uncertainty for handling integration in some cases).
As for my October story though, I’m planning to write another Song Story. It will hopefully include gay horses. I want to write something based around the Wallows song Are You Bored Yet?, which is from the recent breed of trancelike Modern Alternative. The story is hopefully going to be Flutterdash-themed, but like my other ideas, I don’t really have a storyline. So I guess I’m going to flounder and find out.
I do have more about my personal life, but I feel like that might be better relegated to seperate blog posts. I just wanted to write this concerning my projects and my absence. I hope to get a story out this month and I hope you’ll bear with me as I write that.
And until next time; be awesome!
