Along the western border of the United States in the wild territory of Kansas, lies the US Army outpost of Fort Scott. Tasked with patrolling the western plains, the men of the 1st US Dragoons and the other soldiers of the post long for a break from the monotonous life on the frontier.

One day, they find themselves and their post transported to a strange land with strange inhabitants to greet them. Now they have found the adventure they had longed for however the outcome of that adventure may not be what they expected.

(Edit: other characters that will appear will be historical figures from American History. The cutie mark crusaders are still characters. Big Macintosh, Shining Armor and the royal sisters will also appear. The new add on of Sombra was made because I have finally figured out where I would like this story to go. You'll have to wait and see though:scootangel:)

Stargazing one night, Twilight watches a shooting star pass across the night sky. Imagine her surprise when it crashes into the Everfree forest. Imagine her greater surprise when she discovers it's a damaged ship and someone's still onboard.

Takes place after the season 3 finale.

Constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. I've had this idea for awhile but just never got around to actually putting it down.

In Pace Decus, In Bello Praesidium...In Peace a Glorious Asset, In War a Tower of Strength.

The Stonebridge Military Institute: a fortress of strict regimen, training, and education. Each of its cadets relying on each other to handle the rigors of its system: to survive their first year of brutal hazing, to endure the grueling training of their second and third years, and to embrace their roles as leaders as they take on their fourth and final year.

But something has changed, the corps has been torn away from their land and forced into another. An ancient Saddle Arabian spell-book, the Picatrix, has been stolen by a revolutionary stallion and his band of loyal mercenaries to activate an ancient summoning spell in hopes of gaining a tribe of mythical 'human thralls' to their army. Despite the efforts of a lone griffon-knight in her attempt to stop them, they've succeeded.

It was an old spell though, and the humans that it was bound to have long since passed. Living near the former home of the tribe the new inhabitants are called forth to arms in their place as the: The SBMI Cadets.

Trixie Lulamoon is still a lonely mare.

Sure, she learned the error of her ways, made a close new friend in Ponyville... became an integral part of that community... even ended up having her time in the spotlight when she helped to save the whole nation from Chrysalis's return!

But the ponies of Equestria are slow to forgive, and the life of a showmare on the road is a lonely one. She's watched her friends find love and start families of their own, all while she consoles herself with a glass of cheap wine before slinking into her hammock in her cold, lonely wagon.

It's even worse when she's on tour. Especially worse when she's in Manehattan. The city is tough, and even tougher to former villains. She wasn't looking for love while performing there, just looking to close out her summer tour and get out, keeping her head down in the process.

But love would find her.

A handsome, hard-working reporter, Bawdy Jot, has been assigned to do a story on the blue, boisterous showmare... and he's been surprised by the depth of Trixie's character that was revealed to him as he did his background work. And when he actually meets her, despite a rough greeting, he discovers that they get along quite well!

But love never makes things easy. It isn't long before he's stuck between a rock and a hard place - his editor has instructed him to make his story as negative and accusatory as possible...

How will he manage to do such a journalistically unethical act... against a mare he's falling for?

Will this show fail before it's even started? Or will Trixie and Jot overcome their star-crossed start?

Friendship is a recent addition to Trixie's life, which means there is much about it she has yet to experience. With Hearth's Warming just around the corner, the talented stage-pony is resolved to accept Starlight's offer to spend the celebration with her, once this invitation inevitably comes her way.

After all, being the good friends they are, there's no way The Great and Powerful Trixie wouldn't be invited. And Trixie is altogether above begging, at least that much is certain.

Piggybacks off of the Season 6 episode "A Hearth's Warming Tail". Loosely tied into my previous story "Dance, puppets, dance!" but neither one requires the other, and could theoretically fit in either order.

Trixie's experience with the Alicorn Amulet has left her just a little bit more bitter. Searching for an outlet to express her frustrations, she decides to go back to a town that once shunned her in pursuit of long overdue vengeance.

Others might call her plan just a little bit petty. They would be wrong. Trixie doesn't do anything "little".

Dragons are remarkably resilient creatures. Perhaps the most dramatic example of this is their ability to bathe in molten rock as casually as a pony might relax in a hot tub. The temperatures involved would burn a pony before they even got close enough to touch it but dragons are made of sterner stuff.

For a dragon living among ponies this means it can be difficult to feel warm.

Long before moving to Ponyville, Spike struggles with this problem when Canterlot slips into the grip of winter. Eventually he braves the cold of the world outside his basket in search of warmth.

But it's Twilight who will be faced with the collateral damage.

A random standalone story that popped into my head the other day. Set a few years before Twilight and Spike move to Ponyville and before Spike becomes Twilight's assistant.

"Are all these... yours?" Fluttershy asked Ember about the dragon eggs. "No... none of them are!" she denied. But what if this wasn't just a lie, but a BIG lie...?

Takes place straight after the episode Sweet And Smoky.

Braeburn is a stallion from a family of workaholics. He is determined to make sure Appleloosa becomes a thriving, successful town no matter what - even if the cost is his own health.

Lily is a nervous mare who is scared of her own shadow. She has lived through Nightmare Moon, Discord, a dragon, an ursa minor, plus whatever else has attacked Ponyville this week. She would much rather stay home in her nice, safe garden with her nice, safe flowers than venture outside her front door - but her friends have other ideas after reading Iron Will's latest book.

When Braeburn is sent away from Appleloosa to stay at Sweet Apple Acres for the sake of his health, nopony would ever have imagined the two would meet. Yet the yearly celebration of the Spring is Sprung Feast provides the stage for a very unconventional love story.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders talk about their older sisters. Sweetie Belle still doesn't get why Rarity enjoys freelance writing so much, especially for shows made for foals such as My Little Human. However, this conversation gives Scootaloo an idea. The three friends try their hooves at doing fanfiction to get their cutie marks, having decidedly mixed results.

I'm sort of doing this as a celebration for getting my four-hundredth watcher. This is an idea that was floated around 4chan several months ago, and it has always stuck in my mind. I'm also riffing on authors that do trollfics. Thanks for reading.
