Behind Celestia's graceful smile and kind eyes, secrets are hidden with a thousand years of practice. The whispered legends of her depravity hide a dark grain of truth, hidden in the mists of time: the clash with Nightmare Moon left her with scars that will never heal.

This was written before Season 4: it's in a Season 3 universe.

This story takes place during Season 4.

Twilight makes a rare find in an antiques shop and travels off in search of a lost town; a town that holds the best kept secret in all of Equestria.

Her shocking discovery puts her on a collision course with Celestia and Luna who have been sharing a dark secret since the founding of Equestria.

As young Luna begins to leave behind the carefree joys of her foalhood, the moon starts drawing her to fulfil her destiny in the night.

Celestia misunderstands, assuming that her sister no longer wants to spend time with her, and goes to seek help from their mother.

Sometimes, bad things happen to good ponies. A year following a tragic incident, Twilight Sparkle returns to Ponyville to visit what she has been missing - her town, her memories, and most importantly, her friends. But will everything be as she remembers it?

This story has a sequel titled "In History, Maybe".
