Everyone has a bad morning every now and then. Most ponies just have to put up with it.
Colgate however has the power of time travel. And with great power comes great... screw it, she just wants coffee, and if it take violating the one unbreakable rule of the space/time continuum to do it, then she's willing to take that risk.

Something short and random I wrote as a break from other things.

History records that Nightmare Moon was sealed away inside the moon, but there are some who tell the story differently. They claim that she was banished not into it, but onto its surface.

If that's the case, what did she do on the moon? How did she keep herself entertained? How did the stars aid in her escape? And when the answers to those questions are revealed, can she ever live them down?

A Diamond Dog king, feeling bold after gathering an army of 100,000 dogs, decides the best way to flex his new muscles would be to invade Equestria for past perceived slights. As such, he sends a letter to Princess Celestia with a declaration of war.

It goes about as well as you'd expect.

Sombra never realized this would happen.
Usually a villain is suppose to be defeated, right?
So, why did he, well...win?
Even he was shocked to see the crystal heart in his hooves. Never in a thousand or so years did he think he would pull this off; that he would actually...win.
So, what will he do now? Just rule over everyone and enslave all of pony kind? Or Perhaps kill the princess and mind control that purple unicorn and her friends? Or maybe have some common sense and figure out just how he will deal with all of this in the long run? With all these questions, he knows one thing for sure.
This is going to be very awkward.

Had it not been for Cadence and Shining sendin' them packin', we might all be changelings by now. Only this time, the wisdom of thousands of years allows her to see the only way to keep Equestria safe. With her nearly unlimited power, Twilight aims to ensure that evil never rises to threaten her kingdom again. The only way to do that is to stamp out the enemies of her kind one by one.
