Out for a pleasant walk through the woods, Princess Celestia takes a break from dealing with Earth politics and finds herself exiting next to a long, black road. As it just so happens, a native comes by and hits her with roughly two tons of steel, plastic, and glass.

Luckily, the vehicle's occupant carries lots of napkins and bandages.

This story is based on true events. Written for my good friend, Admiral Biscuit, as a commission/payment for a set of rear wheel bearing puller heads for a slide hammer. He also pre-read and edited it, because that's how he rolls.

It didn't take a genius to figure out that that perfume wasn't my own, nor did it take any real effort to locate the source of both of my issues: there was a pony asleep on my arm.

I assume she was asleep, anyway. She was breathing slowly and shallowly, which was quite easy to ascertain, as my right arm was draped across her.

After an argument with Luna, Celestia realizes that she is the only creature in Equestria who cannot sleep in. She enlists Twilight to help, and the two of them come up with a spell that will allow her to spend the night on a different world. Unfortunately, all their research failed to reveal that the world they sought was populated. Now, the Princess must decide whether to continue with contact, or destroy the only non-Equestrian witness to their existence.

This was my attempt to do two challenges at once!

Conceived and written in one hour for the seventh Quills and Sofas contest. The prompt was "hard to handle". It came third place!

I realised it was also an opportune time to also have a go at AdmiralBiscuit's Labour Day Challenge! I didn't actually have time to include any scenes of her actually trucking, like I wanted, but... how interesting could it be? She sits there, listens to podcasts and talks to her buddy. Earth pony stamina to stay awake. 'Nuff said.

When I heard ponies had opened a car wash, I had to stop in and investigate. Under normal circumstances, nobody washes my Mustang but me. Considering these abnormal circumstances, is it time to make an exception?
