When Fluttershy received her certification as a fog specialist, she only wanted a plausible excuse to write off the expenses associated with her ground-based house on her taxes. However, when an accident in Cloudsdale sends a blanket of industrial-grade clouds rolling towards Ponyville, Fluttershy suddenly finds herself in charge of coordinating the response, mostly because she's the only fog specialist in the area. Can our heroine step up to the challenge at hoof, or will she risk facing the wrath of the Equestrian Revenue Service?

After the changelings' failed invasion of Canterlot, Twilight tries to soothe some of Ponyville's rampant paranoia by casting a spell to prove there are no imposters hiding in the town. But her spell leaves her in an alien body, facing a mob of angry ponies who just don't believe her when she says she is Twilight Sparkle.

Or, at least, she was Twilight Sparkle, anyway...

However, she must still work to garner his trust before he will show enough emotion towards her to sustain her. He visits her in secret, and as the years pass, she accrues his trust.

Although more than just trust begins to develop. . .

Darkness has attempted to run and even fight back against the light for an eternity, and one of its many tools is the ability to make a copy of a world (with restrictions however). Nigtmares are creatures that once were a part of the darkness, but betrayed the darkness to work for the light. Nightmares have long used the fears of mortals to track down darkness that plagues them, hence their name. Dusk is amongst the great in the nightmares and has been sent to purge a copy of the wolrd the ponies exist. Due to thier lack of a true physical form, nightmares require "vessels", or a living creature that will allow them to inhabit their body. Dusk and his vessel, Kindrell, come into this plagued world, and work to free it.

Equestria is no more. A creature of raw destruction has consumed it and not even the combined might of Celestia, Nightmare Moon and Discord could hold it at bay.

But not all is lost, in a final desperate gamble Celestia gathered six special fillies and sent them, along with the Elements of Harmony, through the Void Between Worlds. Her hope being they would find a safe home, filled with love and care, so that they may grow strong and righteous... and one day use the Elements to drive back the destroyer and restore thier shattered world.

...And so those six little ponies began the long trot Towards A Distant Dawn.

Discord found love, and Equestria peace, through his union with Fluttershy, till death do them part.

But what happens after that?

As Twilight re-shelves the books in the Books and Branches Library, her home for years, she comes comes across a strange notebook. A notebook with untold power, rivaling the powers of alicorn magic itself. The power within it could turn anypony into one of greed and power, corrupting the pony's mind with its power. In the wrong hooves it could rain chaos. If used in a just way, could aid thousands of ponies in need. But if used by Pinkie Pie, Celestia help us all. Twilight decides to keep it to herself, fearing what could happen if it fell into the wrong hooves.

But can she protect it from herself?

Shenanigans ensue.
