The King Sombra they fought and defeated at the Crystal Empire was a product of the Mirror Pool. The original Kings fate is unknown.

This explains his having little to no personality, and it actually leaves an opening for his return. Besides, he was shown to be Crazy Prepared, so creating a decoy wouldn't be that far-fetched.

So where was the original? What was he really like? What was he doing during his clones rule? Is there more of his clones running around? We may never know!

But that's my head-cannon. Thoughts?
