Nope. I often play as a Wizard. Rangers are great scouts though and often know the land. It would be good to have such a tracker (I guess it depends on his skill build as well) as my right hand for I could easily send him out to do reconnaissance or take over when I am sent on a quest by my Deity. You could be one of my other head generals (but I will keep an eye on you).
