2261606 Probably because Pacific Rim reminds more people of Transformers which is oddly enough where Power Rangers draws inspiration for its megazords. (They're based on a Japanese series called Super Sentai and in the late 80's Japan had several exclusive Transformers shows.)

well Mad actually crossed them both over with Voltron. Legacy Dino Megazord was the clean up crew vacuuming up the kaiju parts.
